When I twisted wrench’s on Porsche 944’s they too had an oil cooler on the side of the block that would swap coolant with and spread the everywhere. I used shout it out as it was phosphate free and would destroy that oil. It always made for a clean floor and the shop smells nice and clean.

THAT WAS A LOT OF WORK.....NOT DIFFICULT SINCE YOU HAVE DONE THESE BEFORE.....BUT STILL A LOT OF WORK.....GREAT VIDEO.....
First off..... wanna say I love the bonnie blue hanging from the rafters! Secondly.....just bought my godson a 04 6.0. Stock except for coolant filer kit. New turbo and 180k with no blow. I know there's technically no headbolt safe tuner but was wondering what your thoughts are with running just MPG or 20 to 50hp setup. I like edge for being able to monitor everything that you need to especially on 6.0 like the oil temp vs coolant temp. But I've only used sct and ts stuff on my fords. Seems to be a healthy engine and we done all the fluids and I've checked everything that i know to look for. I don't expect it to run like my 450hp 7.3 but the kid is wanting little more than what it is now.

I’ll say what I say to every customer who asks this. Don’t tune it with factory TTY bolts unless you wanna do studs in the very near future. Last customer who didn’t follow this had to stud his truck way sooner than he budgeted for and stated “I was only running a lite tow tune” that’s when I had to say “I told you”. Leave the truck alone do whatever exhaust you want, cold air, blue spring, etc but don’t throw more fuel and boost at a truck that’s already prone to have head gasket problems. I know it’s not what he wants to hear but it’s better than puking coolant and looking at a truck sit in the driveway because it’s broke. That’s my 2 cents.

You can also power up the block heater during the overnight Cascade soak to keep the temperature up and working a little warmer.

Great video series! I love the 6.0. On this chocolate syrup truck how did you rule out possibility of head gaskets? did you run a PSI test on the degas bottle? Was there no teltale smoke in the exhaust? Just curious how that didnt come up as a possibility. Thanks for taking all this time to show us about the 6.0.

Blown head gasket won’t mix coolant with oil, just pressurizes the coolant system

What is more common in the sourh on the 6.0 oil coolers or high pressure oil leaks? Im from the rust belt when i used to work on theses day in and day out i had a lot of high pressure oil leaks not a whole lot of oil coolers
@AutomedicGarage Жыл бұрын
I see both, more hpo leaks than coolers. I think most folks have learned the hard way and quit running crappy coolant and neglecting oil changes so it’s slowed the oil cooler issue.

If ISP in not building up it's most likely is HPOP LEAK ,,(taking IPR out of equations) STC fitting. So, WHEN IS IT WISER TO REPLACE THE WHOLE PUMP or it's ONLY STC fitting???!

@@mikeches7992 what year 6.0? Need to have live data numbers. ICP V, ICP psi, IPR duty cycle, FICM main and sync. Once we have that and can confirm no or low icp psi then air test through ipr. It will show you what is leaking. Otherwise this is just a guessing game.

Will this affect your injectors in any way?
@AutomedicGarage11 ай бұрын
No. It’s oil in the coolant system. Now, if you continued to try and run it like this your oil temps would skyrocket and you would start ruining other components.
