You can run it without a tune perfectly fine. It's better to get it ported, run a bigger throttle body and tune though. I like the way the 6.1 looks (best looking hemi intake manifold) plus it's good on boost seeing as it isn't plastic.

Great video, and helpful tips at the end on what additional items you need, bolts, gaskets, etc. Did you have to tune the car after install? Would a canned tune, like Diablo work or no? On my '13 Daytona, I have cai, Flowmaster 44's, 85mm throttle body, and Diablo tune.

The car ran fine without a tune, but a tune would help. Run the Diablo tune. You'll be good.

Great video I’m about to do this same swap in about 2 weeks. I have everything the only other thing I need to know is to re route your vacuum line that would normally be visible across the top side of the manifold I see you used silicon vacuum line it looks like is it because the factory line wouldn’t reach if you would have re routed it like that out the way. Also which bolts did you go with? I’m thinking of going to a local hardware store and getting the m6x35 mm because it’s hard to get the factory ones. Did you need to loctite them or no?

I got the fuel line from autozone and just ran it along the side of the intake. I used a few zip ties to run it with the wiring harness on top of the valve cover then swung it around the back. I used M6x35mm stainless bolts and washers from home depot. No loctite.

Trades bottom end for top end power. Not very useful for driving on the road, since most is done in the bottom end.

@@michelfarramola3611 everything is listed in the video. Any 6.1 intake manifold will bolt right onto the 5.7 engine.. need 6.1 bolts and 6.1 gaskets. It will fit. Mine is a 2014. Idk what year car my manifold came from. I think it was a 2009 Charger SRT8.

@@nate857 It's hard to say because I added a bunch of stuff at the same time (3.91 gears, supercharger, bigger injectors...) I will say I noticed more top end in exchange for a little low end. You probably won't notice much of a difference if you don't have supporting mods. This manifold looks better than the 5.7 intake as well so that was a factor for me too.

Nope. You don't need a controller/switch for the runner. It works just like stock.

Both fit and bolt right on. The difference is the 6.4 manifold will require a module and extra wiring to activate the valve runners... the 6.1 does not.

6.1 is a direct bolt on, but the 6.4 requires a little more. You just need the intake manifold, fuel rails, and 6.1 bolts.

I know this video is over 1year old but I have been thinking about doing this and waiting for the gasket.. I hear you lose bottom end hp but gain on high end.. My question how hard was it to do? I have base knowledge but I'm no mechanic so I don't know if I would be signing up for touch project How are you liking it? Would you recommend it? Is it noticeable? Sounds any better? Looks better and performs better top end. Ended up boosting and building the motor soon after. You may not notice much of a difference if you're stock. I also did 3.91 LSD and a few other mods at around the same time. Wish I could have did a dyno each time or before and after. Sorry. Just trying to help...

As a 6.1 owner, I absolutely love the look of the 6.1 intake. It stands out so well. Did you happen to notice any power difference? I imagine the 6.1 manifold flows better than the 5.7 but I could be wrong.

I love the look of it as well and eventually I'll get it ported. I noticed it has more top end in exchange for a little low end. On a stock motor it probably won't make a huge difference. Definitely worth it with supporting mods. I also had a cam, ported tb, headers, mids, catback, tune, and 3.91 LSD so it's hard to tell exactly what helped the most.

@@canyou_heminow MMX I believe it is, makes an adapter, that smooths the transition from the 6.1 intake ports to the 5.7 heads. Ideally you would get them ported to match, but for those that dont, it smooths the transition and adds some space, its basically plates that go between the heads and the Intake.

Yes. I'm using a 87mm ported TB from MMX and the bolts are identical to the oem 80mm TB I originally had. The only difference is the internal diameter. They mount the same.

Unfortunately it's been shown that the 6.1 intake is not much of an improvement over the 5.7. 3 or 4 hp is all you get and it is a lot heavier so whatever hp you do get is negated by the increase weight.

It's actually been proven to have more top end, especially with supporting mods. I'm currently running it with a supercharger and I'm going to have it ported soon. Plus it looks better than the 5.7 intake. I could have went with the 6.4 intake, but to each his own. I like it.

@@canyou_heminow I watched a video where a guy dynoed a 5.7 with all 3 intakes. The 6.4 is the best. The 6.1 did pick up a few yes at higher rpm but the biggest issue with the 6.1 is it heat soaks a lot. He said especially with boost the 6.1 is the worst choice.

Do you need new fuel rails and injectors or do the stock 5.7 ones work fine

Stock injectors work fine, but you'll need the 6.1 fuel rails, or oem.

Definitely on the top end! I lost a little low end, but I made up for it with a 3.91 rear differential.

Fuel or vacuum hose. I think it was 5/16.
