MMX sells the wiring and everything that allows to run a 6.4 truck manifold on a 5.7
@Kettenhund754 жыл бұрын
Why did the seller sell the whole setup? Was he unhappy with it on his vehicle? I am unfamiliar with what you have done to your engine, but you really need more mods to make use of the 6.4 intake. All you basically did was lay groundwork for future mods. With the 5.7, you'll need to stroke it, add a camshaft, or both to make use of the extra capacity of the bigger intake. Do you have any plans to dyno your car for some hard data? On the injector wires, the common wire (the one that all the injectors have - brown/yellow in your case) is a common ground. The different colored wire for each injector will be a signal wire - the one that sends a positive pulse to open the injector. You will need to tap into the colored wire instead of the common ground for signal.
@n-power-automotive4 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for the great questions and suggestions! The guy who I bought the 6.4 intake manifold, MDS box, etc from crashed his car so he was parting it out. As far as mods go, I have pretty much all the bolt ons but no internal mods. And while a cam or stroke would absolutely give me way more performance out of every bolt on I’ve done, the 6.4 intake manifold is supposed to give gains in TQ across the low to mid range RPM band. It’s been proven on many 5.7s. That’s why I’m suspecting I need a better tune based off of a data log. I haven’t planned on getting it dynoed, not to say I won’t someday. As far as the injector wire goes, if you watched the whole video at the end I explain how I messed up tapping into the wrong injector wire at first and had to tap into the other one to get an RPM signal, so I did figure that out. But again great questions!

where can i get the 6.4 i take manifold? i also have a 2009 5.7L challenger

I found mine in a Facebook Charger group. You could probably also find one at a junk yard.

Would I be able to do this on a 05 hemi 5.7
@n-power-automotive2 жыл бұрын
You could with adapter plates but it would only be for looks. It doesn’t add anything for pre-09 HEMIs.

Would you recommend installing the manifold with 6.4 injectors and fuel rails or would you suggest sticking to 5.7? I can get a revise tune with the bigger Injectors but is it worth it?
@n-power-automotive3 жыл бұрын
Great question. I was told there’s no point in using the larger 6.4 injectors because they’d be too much for the 5.7, unless you’re making over 450hp, which I’m definitely not. The tuner would have to scale them back basically to 5.7 specs in order for the engine to run right. The 6.4 fuel rails are identical to the 5.7, as far as I know, so you should be able to use the 6.4 rails if you want.

It may save some time if anyone is doing this, go buy a $10 multimeter from Home Depot/Lowes/Autozone and you won't have to trial and error on the ignition switched wiring.

@@n-power-automotive that’s pressure between the pump and rail. Removing the gas cap has zero effect on that pressure. There is no positive or negative pressure in the tank by design
