That truck is worth more now that you did the swap over, then it ever was with that 6.4 in it. To be honest with you, it's worth far more that $11,000 is a used truck. I have a 94 F250 extended cab 4-wheel drive, that I wouldn't take 11 grand for. You did a great job, that truck will be worth $15,000 minimum when you're done. We are just about to put a 1996 Cummins 12V into a 2008 Ford F450 6spd manual 4x4 and have learned an absolute ton of knowledge as to what to look for and avoid as well as what to fabricate instead of buying. Your video's I figure will save us at least $2k+. I work in a machine/fab shop so most of the parts I can just do myself. Well done mate - a nice engine in a nice body, the way it should have been done from get go. I do have a question for you guys who are doing this or similar engine swaps. What about EPA and theyr'e ban on emission delete?. Any vehicle that are non emission I would guess are fine - but a 08 or newer would have EGR, DPF and some even DEF and by replacing and older non emission engine, would it comply with OEM emission laws ?. I would love to do a swap like this but where I live the EPA, RTA, annual inspection and Police would have fined me into the utter darknes and left with the plates. I'm stuck with a 7.3 PSD which are non emission - yes they allowe me an 5.9 12 valve but the cost swapping it in are not worth it. A similar year like yours with a 6.4 PSD would have been worth the effort - but then again the emission laws are getting into play. Thanx for posting.

Just out of curiosity I wonder what it would be like cost,time, difficulty etc... to swap in a 6.7 power stroke compared to the cummins? Anybody know. .
@hummincummins54135 жыл бұрын
A lot harder. Its a fun thing to think about but it would never be worth it. Nobody to my knowledge makes an adapter plate kit to bolt a 6.7 up to a 5R110. You would have to use the transmission out of a 6.7 truck, and all of the computers along with the 6.4 computer. The wiring would be horrendous. And in the end, you wouldn't have the dependability like you would with a 12 valve cummins. The later 6.7s seem to be holding up alright, but they so much harder to work on when something breaks than a simple 12 valve or even a 6.7 cummins. Not to mention how expensive they are.
@leroyroutt47915 жыл бұрын
