I've got to say watching these videos and not just your channel yours is probably the least but I dont know what's going on with people out there these day's as everything is always someone else's fault, everyone is stupid because they have an opinion in life, nothing is ever good enough not to mention just the way some of these people (not all) are so disrespectful to each other over a damn comment about a engine, brand, show, movie I mean I've just never seen anything like it in my life of almost 50 years!!!! Not even 10 years ago people didn't act this way towards each other I mean its sickening almost! People have got to start taking responsibility for there lives, decisions, actions and making that change if thats what's needed instead of just blurting something out about what I mentioned because we as a people have just became horrible to each other which I knoe why but I won't touch on that subject but there are alot of people that need Jesus in there life out there or atleast fix themselves instead of bringing everyone and anyone else down to make themselves feel or look better which doesn't truly work because I know they don't feel better about themselves and just embarrass themselves instead of the other person when talking to someone that way for what?? A chunk of metal? I mean come on now we can do way better than this!!! I dont know you Dave but thank you for that and having the courage to do so because it's all got to stop or it'll just get worse and worse then the Amercia we love and grew up in is just a bunch of sad, mad, confused people instead of all trying to help to benefit one another which will be a sad day as they are getting sadder for some of the ones that feel the need to act that way towards other people because of the way they feel! Try uplifting someone or helping someone maybe they'd feel better about themselves.. Anyway just my two pennies. Great show Dave!

I'm a pastor, and one of my favorite hobbies is working on my cars, boat, small engines, etc. I've been following your reels for a while and when I saw your video about positions available, I thought, "If I didn't love preaching so much, I would love to work for Dave." Your honesty and integrity and character are praiseworthy, and you seem to be the kind of person that a guy like me would enjoy being around and learning from. After watching this video, I now know that we share the same faith (which I already suspected), and I'm glad to have discovered you on social media. Keep doing what you are doing. Thanks for the great content and for setting a wonderful example for others.

This is one of the most interesting channels I have ever watched, as someone who has turned a wrench for a living it’s a beautiful thing to see someone who practices the same way of doing business as myself and my father. After I got out of the Navy I started my own business and after becoming successful I was approached by a large company and let them buy me out, I then became a territorial manager for Hankook Tire and enjoyed my time there and now I’m retired at 58 because of a series of events and I am doing great because of business decisions. You give me and others a great outlet to enjoy what we did in our youth. God Bless you and yours.

Amen Dave! As a retired automotive repair business and Christian I love your message. Love the content and the shorts. As far as the repair on the diesel. One thing I've learned over my 45 years as a mechanic, that not all customers are appreciative end the end. Especially when you offer a "bandaid". If money is an issue now, it will always be an issue. Whether it's this repair or one on this truck in the future. I say do it right or don't do it at all.

I’d like to give away thousands of dollars in Repairs to the folks I meet and help them out no matter what… but if I did that I’d be so busy with that work that I’d never have time for myself or others. Plus it takes Millions of dollars for that kind of thing. The fact is that people are still going to be Lazy, Negligent when it comes to maintenance of anything, and if you help them out, they sometimes just keep coming back wanting big handouts for nickel and dime payments. In the end they become Dependent Upon You more and more! I’ve always thought that there was some great value and wisdom in that Book of stories that’s been Hijacked by modern times. Particularly… give a man a Fish and he eats for a day, teach him to fish, and prepare it for themselves, than that’s giving him a lifetime worth of food! Unfortunately like most Good Things, it has been hijacked by Greed. The world seems only to care about the next 12 seconds or less. But when they really need something they become Savages to get it!!! Example… Covid 19 and Toilet Paper… My 50 plus years of working on cars, Trucks and Equipment (heavy construction equipment for the Army and OTR Trucks as well) have shown me that people are mostly the problem, coupled with Corporate Greed they pay less for more Stupidity and keep raising prices and lowering the Bar as a standard. I wonder (this is January 17,2023) how many of the electric cars are being given up on Today because it’s So cold across America and they simply can’t hold their charge anymore due to the lack of engineering that goes into their batteries. Good enough doesn’t get it. Why do we make junk ? Think about how Negatively our society has changed over the past decade, I’ve paid attention and all of it boils down to not caring about what Responsibilities are and Accepting Accountability for you Actions. Instead we focus on blaming others… Just Quit it now! My Daughter at 19 years old came to me and asked me to borrow my tools, to help teach a Boy How to do his own Oil Change! Yeah he lived with his mother and I have no idea what his father did or where he was… But at least Someone took the time to explain and teach him how to do some basic Maintenance. It seems that responsibility for this kind of thing Could have come from the Boys Absent Father… For those who have the talent the tools and knowledge, I challenge you to please put down your own phone and problems and teach your children how to do things that will make them feel accomplished and that basic necessity for most things mechanical is maintaining it! Granted if you’re wealthy enough you can afford to just throw money at a problem and it gets fixed by someone else who is willing to take it. But if you’re rich and stupid then you can afford to freeze to death because you’re too cheap to do the right Accountable thing that’s called maintenance. No problem when the snow and ice melt they will eventually find your corpse, along with the other ones that are dead from being stupid enough to go die in a Blizzard because they just Have to get some where… in a Hurry… Right now… and your in their way! 😢

I’ve been following along a few months now, and I’ve came to the opinion that you’re one of the most humble people I have ran across. Sometimes it’s good to vent and open up and speak the truth. God gives grace to the humble, but is opposed to the proud. Thank you for all that you do for your customers and for your creator above. Talked to one of your team members today about bringing my 1964 Cadillac 429 to you guys to rebuild. I see that truck is from Montana and that’s where I’m from. I truly feel that it would be worth the trip to bring that motor to you guys. Looking forward to that experience.

Years ago I bought a truck from my neighbor, which I would never do again. Anyway I had the truck for 3 days and noticed it used a lot of oil. So I asked the neighbor i said has it always used that much oil and he said you know i had a garage work on it and they had fixed everything. So I start tearing the motor down, it was a Ford with inline 6. The pistons were very loose and I could shake them. Okay new rings. Back to the neighbor and then he tells me the garage only did new bearings off the crankshaft and I said they went that far and didn't rering the pistons? Also had a guy at check the valves and he found that the head was warped. Had that fixed at work since they could do it. Put it all back together and everything was so much better.

You and your channel are awesome Dave! I just ran across your channel a month or so ago, I can’t believe you’re new to this. Your videos are better than channels 5hat have been around for years and I’m guessing it’s because you’re just being honest and being yourself. Thanks for the testimony at the beginning, it’s encouraging to know there’s still plenty of good people out there that haven’t lost their ever loving minds yet like almost everyone we see on television and other media. My Dad was a mechanic, many of my uncles worked in automotive factories, I went to school to be a heavy equipment and diesel mechanic then became a chemical plant operator, a powerhouse fireman, and ultimately a master electrician. I grew up in Michigan, worked there as well as Ohio and New Orleans and now am retired in Tennessee. It’s sad to see all of the closed up factories, automotive parts manufacturers, machine shops, starter and armature shops, etc. that have gone under across the country. So it’s exciting to see a guy like you not only making it work, and doing it at a very high level is amazing! I’m looking forward to seeing lots more good stuff, thank you.

Dave, I want to say thank you for the speech. Been going through a hard time the last few years. I found myself really stuck in a rut. My lifelong dream got crushed and I didn't handle it well. I really lost touch with God when it happened. I even yelled and cussed at him. As I work on bringing him back into my life, I notice a lot of things changing. I know not everyone believes in God, but I do. If you don't, I'd suggest getting to know him. He is there. He hears you. Give your life to him and watch him work.... Been a mechanic for 15 years and have never seen such a great operation! Thank you for the speech and the videos! Maybe I'll meet you fellers some day.

After 25 years on the tools I have no time for cowboys in the industry, do it right the first time or not at all, you hit the nail on the head when you talk about reputation, quality of workmanship, good communication with the customers etc. Big plus on the house keeping too I know how difficult that can be in a large workshop, great habit to install into apprentices.

Well, I have loved your content and already felt just from the videos that your should be the shop to rebuild my truck's engine, but now after your encouraging words I feel even more strongly that you're the one I'll trust with it. Thanks for being so real in a time when the world needs it so much.

Stumbled across your channel. I’m not a mechanic, actually a Dentist, but my dad was, so I have some above basic knowledge of the industry. I really enjoy your message in all aspects. Funny how your diagnosis and repair processes are similar in my job. Tooth Mechanic. I have the same type of conversation with my pts. Maintenance!! Sometimes I have to bandaid , but I have to work with every pt individually. Thank you for your videos. I watch them in the evenings instead of useless tv. God Bless. Scott Breland

Dang Dave, thats some amazing words of truth and grace! Loved that whole speech you gave and you can really tell you put your heart into your words. You're an amazing Christian man, and I pray you never change the way you say it how it is and put your belief right out there for everyone to see! It's hard to do that nowadays with the amount of people who are so negative towards the word of God. You're a true man of God Dave, I hope I get the chance to meet you one day, cause man you're true in your words. God bless you!

Someone just sent me this video a few minutes ago and I must say I'm impressed with your integrity. I'm in a mechanical field as well and your message about being curious really spoke to me. Thank you for your testimony of prayer. You gave me the positive kick in the butt I needed and gained a subscriber in the process. God bless.

Hey Dave, I thought that was a really great motivational speech. I plan on passing your video along to a good friend of mine who has lost her way in life. She's been homeless for almost a year now and seems stuck in a cycle, doing the same thing every day but expecting different results. I constantly tell her that if one direction doesn’t work, she needs to change her direction. Stay well, Dave. Thanks.

When I started working on OTR trucks in '73 I was blessed. I was taught by good mechanics and hard knocks. I stayed with it almost 30 yrs. I've worked on them, managed, owned and towed them. It's been crazy sometimes. I've ever helped friends with their vehicles. I feel if you know you should help.

Thanks for sharing your words of wisdom with us today. As always I walked away learning something. Like a majority of people in here, I’ve been within the automotive industry for most of my life and there’s times we all need to build each other up instead of fighting and discouraging others. And by all means I move best in life when I give it my all and pray.

I didn’t grow up with my dad and missed out a lot on his knowledge. I’ve been on my own since I was 16 working odd jobs and now im 26 working at an oil and tire shop. I’ve made a lot of mistakes these past ten years and Im at a point where I want to learn from someone I truly respect. that’s hard to come by these days. Thank you for teaching me and everyone else these life lessons. I can only pray that I will be allowed to have a family like yours one day. I will forever be a supporter of @Dave’s auto center. hope to meet him and all the awesome people that keep that place running someday.

Awesome! You will not be held back what is temporary if you work through your personal battles. We all have them. I didn't know this growing up. I thought successful people were just lucky and everything good just fell in their laps. Now I have to get off here and go do my service job with a little more purpose than I did before I found this channel. Dave has been an inspiration to me too. I am 61 and nearing the end of my working career but I don't know it all.

Dave thanks for your encouragement Ive been a diesel mechanic all my life. But I broke my back over 20 years ago I've have 2 surgeries but I live in chronic pain. I do what I can but I am limited as I know what aggravates my back. I'm fully retired now but still push on to do things as I can. I love your honesty and you are correct my best work is done on my knees praying out to my Lord and Saviour.

But the brief life advice and 4 C’s are actually extremely helpful for me in my current personal situation. So thanks alot for that Sir. From New Zealand
