Best testing method imo 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 0 1 circle More often then not the odds don't need to be tested unless you have 2 even groups side by side reading a node which is usually a tight horizontal and tight vertical groups Test with 2 shots until you find a node then you can do a 3 or 5 shot confirmation group at your discretion... This will greatly cut down on ammo usage and let you get back to practice... Lastly... you pull a shot take a break and start the group over on the same setting... Happy shootin

Just KZbin EC Tuner Brake and see all the videos on EC Tuners and Tuner Brakes. They work well. Mine is coming tomorrow for my 6.5 PRC. I have researched these brakes for a long time finding zero negative reviews. All are positive. I am on a limited budget, so it took me awhile to order it even though I have had it on a wish list for a while. I do intend on putting one on a couple more rifles but unfortunately, I will have to have the barrels threaded to do so. Another $150 each just to get them where I can put a tuner brake on them. If I purchase any more rifles, they will have to be factory threaded. It costs way too much to have them threaded afterwards but it's cheaper than buying a new barrel or rifle.

they work fantastic on gas guns. My gasser in 6 ARC already held pretty tight groups with factory ammo to begin with. I bought a EC tuner/brake and threw it on for giggles and I am impressed, they aren't a gimmic, they work. Are they a bit pricey? Yes. If you're trying to squeeze as much accuracy as you can out of your rifle it's money well spent. I'm just starting to play with handloads for my ARC and will be putting the tuner back on. (By the way, I've had great luck so far with vihtavouri N540 powder behind a 108 eld-m bullet. From 57-83 degrees I've seen only a 4 fps variation in velocity. Leverevolution works but is very temp sensitive.)

If that is a Switchback it looks modified to me. Like in the stock and mag. I have a Savage Tactical that came with the accu-stock and accu-trigger like yours in a 6.5 PRC. I will be putting an ECTuner-Brake on it in the future. I just got brass and bullets for it and want to put some rounds through it for break in first using the brake I have. I do think that your shooting is just too fast and does heat that barrel up too much. I used to wait 1 minute between shots when working loads and shooting groups now I wait 3 minutes. A bit time consuming but then again, the consistency is there with the barrel temp per shot, no mirage. Even the least amount of mirage will blow the group. You blew some nice 5 shot groups with too frequent shots and most likely a bit of unnoticeable mirage. Stick to the small number of shot groups and go back and confirm things that looked good with larger groups but with better shot management leaving your barrel temperature the same from shot to shot cooler rather than hotter. Nice video but slow those shots down to keep the barrel heat down. If you space them right, you don't have to wait a long period to cool and then shoot with your barrel at inconsistent heat temperatures and deal with mirage. I did enjoy your video, but you shoot fast like my grandson at the range.

Cortina did a video on this. You do 2 shots for each setting and choose the setting that makes multiple groups consecutively good. One good group inbetween 2 bad groups usually isn’t a good setting.

I am going to purchase one of them about Christmas time. I live on a budget and research my purchases way before I buy. I have a 6.5 PRC that is hell to get supplies for to reload, but I have finally got brass and bullets and am on my way. My money is a bit more freed up in December for getting the tuner-brake and that is when I will get mine. I do suppose it would not hurt for Eric to put in written instructions for people that feel them necessary and may not have watched the videos. I am sure most of his sales are from those that have watched his videos though. You should give them a try lots of good information. He is a competitive shooter with lots of trophies in his own right. He used to outsource his tuners and decided to do them himself when they did things wrong a few times and had to redo them. It wouldn't hurt for you to contact him and suggest he put in instructions. He does ask for feedback.

This EC Tuner brake will do more than a stock change. If you have the accu-stock my bet is the stock is just fine. I have the same rifle in a 6.5 PRC, and I am not wasting my money on a stock they call a chassis that just has a look. The accu-stock can be fitted to the user and has an aluminum block to seat the action to and is adequately free floated. What more do you need? One can try different torque settings on the screws securing the stock even that sometimes makes a difference. But if you think that stock looks cute, and you have the money go for it. Eric Cortina even put one on a rifle he was tweaking. All Rob wants to do is have you look at more of his videos he doesn't even answer your question. He reminds me of some teachers I had that wouldn't answer a question. Needless to say, I did not take any more of their classes.
@RobsReloading
@RobsReloading Жыл бұрын
@@garrytalley8009 the stock change likely didn't change the accuracy of the gun. It made it more comfortable to shoot and helped with recoil management. If you asked me to choose between an ec tuner brake and a nice chassis, I would choose a nice chassis any day. Not for accuracy but for comfort and enjoyment shooting.

What do you think of it as a muzzle break? Substantial reduction? How much louder?
@garrytalley8009
@garrytalley8009 Жыл бұрын
It is designed to give less sound and blowback than other similar brakes. because the first two holes direct the blast to the sides and not back to the shooter. The second two holes direct the blast back, but the first two holes keep that blast from going rearward. If at a range under a roof it's the same as any other brake in sound. I don't know if you can comprehend what I am trying to explain. I use muzzle brakes and find them fine to use. They do what they are meant to do. Just wear hearing protection and save your ears. You need it even when not using a brake when you don't have a good suppressor. When using a brake, the game hears less noise and with the noise dispersed in different directions cannot tell as well from where the sound is coming from.
@juliusjames5577
@juliusjames5577 Жыл бұрын
Thanks. Recoil reduction though compared to other brakes you’ve used?
@garrytalley8009
@garrytalley8009 Жыл бұрын
@@juliusjames5577 I can tell you that the brake will definitely reduce the recoil. The larger the caliber the more effective they are. It is a 4-port brake which is more effective than a 3-port brake. The more ports the more effective they are. The first port reduces the most and they continue to reduce recoil. When you get to 5 ports the reduction is minimal and they start getting way too long. Magnums can be reduced by 60% sometimes more. Where a smaller cartridge will have less of a reduction but then again, they have less recoil to begin with. The more pressure the more effective. I hope that helps. It would help more to know what you are putting it on. Sometimes a brake on a low caliber rifle will let you see the bullet hit because it reduces the recoil enough that your recoil does not take you above the sight picture on your scope. Been there and done that with 223 and 220 Swift with brakes. I have heard that it can work on calibers up to a 25-06. I can't confirm that because I have not tried that yet. This brake is similar to one I have on a 6.5 PRC. I am replacing it with the EC Tuner Brake that is coming in the mail tomorrow. Being able to tune the rifle to the bullet is a more efficient way to get a good group and have the ability to micro tune it to a new level of accuracy.

@@RobsReloading I have seen the Harrel Brake Tuner and you are right on less ports. It is ugly compared to the EC-Tuner brake. 4 ports are much more effective in braking and looking at them side by side the Harrel is downright ugly. They will both tune, but that is irrelevant when you buy something it's more than tuning. The brake is definitely not as good as EC's. It looks weird and undesirable at best I wouldn't want that ugly thing at the end of the barrel of any of my guns.

Nice feature about EC is that the tuner is the last thing the projectile leaves, not the brake. The entire length of everything is tuned to the harmonics vs at the tuner then additional weight/length/exhaust gases. Be nice to see side by side comparison of both brakes on same firearm/same load. Hell even throw KINETIC SECURITIES "ATS" in the challenge.

Be sure, the 5th would increased the hole too. I know its ego hurting, but for testing is better to shoot 5 shot groups..for load developing even 10. Number of trials makes statistics.
