I'm 41 and have been rockin' a classic side part my entire life. However, when I hit my 30s my crown started thinning. People were saying, "just shave your head". I hated the idea but I gave it a try... I absolutely HATED the bald look on me. I decided to grow my hair back out and live with it. It was the best decision I ever made. For my face shape and look, thinning hair is simply better than no hair at all. History is full of classic gentlemen with thinning hair!

We are about the same age. Remember back in the 80s when you saw lots of partially bald guys on TV? It was totally gentlemanly and normal
@jjsolis825916 күн бұрын
@@pensivepenguin3000 I've been thinking of that for the last few years. Thinning crowns, receding hairlines, even "power donuts" were normal until the 2000s. Then something happened. Men suddenly became insecure about losing their hair. They started shaving their heads at the first sign of thinning. It might have something to do with the rise of the internet and social media. I say bring it back, bring it all back! Dress well and don't worry too much about the hair you have!

I transition from a more modern fade type cut to the classic side part about a year ago and I’m never going back. I actually look forward to styling my hair in the morning after I get out of the shower, which for me just means working a bit of water-based pomade through it, combing it all back initially, carving out the side part And then using my hands to put the finishing touches on it. This lets you add a bit of your personality into your hairstyle, whereas those super short shaved styles don’t have much room for individuality

What I do is take the Ivy League, keep the top hair at like 4 inches and slick it back. Ut take really low maintenance and I just use my trimmer to clean the sides to 5 mm whenever needed, so barber vosits are also once a month only

When a man has thinning or balding hair, low fades, buzz cuts, disconnects or very short hairstyles or no hair maybe a better option. I served in military and learned how to cut hair but only military style haircuts. { I’m not a barber } That said, military haircuts have standard that one has to fallow, and short clean cut faded hair is a option especially if a man is balding, bald or thin haired on top. Just an opinion. It would be nice for educational purposes as well as practical for men that have thinning hair, bald or balding, to see a video on hairstyles for them. {Or this aspect added to this video} I realize some may find this funny but, for men who find themselves in this category, they will find it very educational, helpful and indebted to you. I don’t mean this as a put down but, Men that don’t care about their appearance, I believe lack something, ie low-self esteem or self respect. Something has to be wrong. I don’t mean, You wear a suit to do yard work. I grew up poor and as young man, I worked as a laborer. As a laborer I didn’t care what I looked like when I was working, even though I was told, one should make better appearance. As I got older and had more disposable income, I realized they were right. The past is the past, moving ahead and putting our best foot forward, I believe we should humbly exercise some self respect and present ourselves as best we can, in accordance to our circumstances. All that aside a well behaved man always looks the best, no anger, not greedy, not a drunkard, is not a simp the list can go on. Remove yourself from bad influences, FYI Being a snob is immoral Balance Balance Balance

Hmm... So black guys, Jewish guys, bald guys, long-haired guys and etc guys can't be gentlemen? Neither can guys with cool haircuts... even when they embody the hallmark traits of class and sophistication that truly make a gentleman the charming figure he is...? Perhaps being a classical gentleman is overrated. Perhaps this concept deserves a much needed overhaul... to modern gentlemen. Perhaps modern gentlemen can wear t-shirts and jeans in place of suede loafers and ascots. Perhaps modern gentlemen listen to modern music, use modern (yet eloquent) speech patterns and date using modern methods. Perhaps modern gentlemen don't need Ivy League swag to live with high quality lives. Perhaps modern gentlemen are what classical gentlemen would be if they lived in modern times. Perhaps I'll start a channel for all the bald guys, black guys, Jewish guys, long-haired guys, etc guys and guys with all the haircuts listed here to destroy the classical archetypical gentleman once and for all. Perhaps... 🤔

@@mrjace3 I've been watching this channel for about a year and it's filled with antiquated thought processes. He's telling men to use old time pleasantries that only lead to realtime hardship. What good is it being a classical gentleman in a world where there are few to no ladies? This is the basis of gentlemanly behaviors, isn't it? Even the most well educated women in the West have feminism seeded in their minds. Ignoring this only leads to failure for men. You need edge to cut through the modern world. This isn't that. To the point, his style queues are not only dated they're cliche and lack individuality. Men in olden times dressed the same because they only had the same options. This is 2024, a modern gentleman has his own sense of style. He's not a holdover from the early 20th century. A Style Coach should be proficient in every kind of man's aesthetic enhancement. I've been black for 40 years and have helped many straight haired, light skinned men find the perfect haircut, personal fashion and amazing physique. If you can only speak to one demographic, you're less of a specialist and more of a one show pony. No hate. All facts.

@@pensivepenguin3000 This is laughable. Do you truly believe gentlemen of odk weren't vocal in their disagreements. They used to have duals when they felt disrespected. And I'm being sensitive for highlighting a creator's inconsistency. Ironically, you're expressing sensitivity by vehemently defending another man's honor. I reason a stranger's honor for the sake of your emotional justification. Facts don't care about your feelings, bro. And the fact of the matter is, this channel only speaks to the socially expected gentlemanly cliches. Real gentlemen smoked cigars, drank too much and womanized from time to time. But you have to live in reality to accept historical facts. Oh yeah... You're too busy feeling for some other guy to care about indisputable truths. Au revoir, Bro
