I love how you broke down the word nude. I always thought that term nude was putting everyone into the same pile. It totally leaves out other complexions. That light tan color is not a nude for me. I love how you incorporate everyone. Your videos are my favorite for petite women.

I also have short, wide feet, with a high instep. I learned years ago that I need a low vamp. So pumps or ballet cut are just about all I can wear. I love the look of loafers on everyone else, lol. I prefer the almond shape toe over pointed for me. Thanks for another great video, Chi. Your channel has come a long way!

Thank you for this post! 175cm - 5ft 9in and built like a lynx: compact torso, long limbs, prominent hands n feet I love ankle straps & high vamp mules/ clogs but could not figure why they work for me when they " break rules" now I know, by sacrificing a bit of visual leg length, I bring my 39/40 feet into proportion.

I saw someone explain that if you use ankle straps, just to make sure they're sitting really low, below your ankle. It actually looked really nice. It was a thin strap and I'll probably try it.

I am learning so much from you and it is so helpful. I am curious because you never show or mention more of a ‘camel’ colored bootie or tall boot more for transition season or winter. Where I live fall is even very dark and so clothes get darker and the ‘light’ color boots would not work except for maybe one or two days here and there. The ‘camel’ color brown is much more common, popular, easy to find. I like the idea of having a different option than just black to make the same clothes look like a different outfit just by changing up the boot color to brown and accessories. If you could show some of these examples of how to wear ‘camel’ colored boots/ booties ( or you just don’t recommend at all?) Even if you don’t own it…( maybe Pinterest pictures) it would be much appreciated.

Make sure to walk flat on your feet! I had that too but I didn't notice I was leaning my weight towards the balls of my feet, which pulls on your calves and exercises them, making them bigger and more muscled. Flat feet on the ground, with the balls and heels of your feet equally shouldering your weight!

I agree w/you on all points w/the possible exception of pointy-toe shoes….I guess it’s just a personal aesthetic. Even though I’m 5’7,” I still feel that my legs are a bit short for my height so I’ve applied all your suggestions, mostly just by learning over time what looks good on my proportions, etc. But instead of pointy-toed shoes, I select only rounded or almond-toed shoes which have a similar effect. But definitely NO square-toed shoes….I really wish that trend would END!

I love all the videos you have on how to decide the best shoe STYLE for your outfit or body shape, but would you please teach us the rules of the shoe COLORS? Like is it ok if I wear taupe colored shoes with a dark brown dress? Or taupe shoes with black jeans? Or should the shoes always be the same color as darker-colored dresses/jeans? What size shoe do you wear? I think you may have said, 5' 0", but wasn't sure. I wear size 5 in a sandel but 5 1/2 or size 6 if I wear boots. With boots, I wear socks so it takes up some of the room. Also, sometimes after wearing boots for several hours or walking, my feet swell a bit, so have to size up a 1/2 size or full size to a size 6.

HOWEVER these days Birkenstock has so many different styles of sandals and shoes that are much more elegant than the most famous chunky wide-strap sandals. Have you thought about getting tennis shoes with a wedgy heel? I recently bought a lovely tennis shoes that are mostly white, with light pink and light blue hues on the shoe. They have about a 1 3/4 to about a 2 inch wedge heel and bought them at Wal-Mart. I didn't measure them exactly just approximate.

Dear Chi, thanks for all your tips. Every centimeter counts jijij Yes, pointed toe shoes are very flattering; but, a little uncomfortable. OMG, thanks for share that one of your foot is a little small than the other; that applied to me, as well. Later, I realize the same condition on me, and I was thinking that it was somerhing wrong on my feet. Also, I observe that my legs pants are not exactly equal; one is a little more longer than the other. Comic it may looks, I was thinking to talk to my doctor about it because I don't know if one of my legs is shorthing or one side of my derriere is smaller than the other side. Is this a common thing?
