I’ve owned a condo here since 2007. Spend 6 months. Everything you said was spot on- not like most realtors. Except one thing. The prices are going up big time. Restaurants. Bars. Groceries. Getting very expensive. More like Canada. But generally a great video. Well done.

Thank you Douglas for your kind remarks. Yes you are right. Prices have gone up in PV. However there are ways to shop cheaply I have found. Such as, instead of buying groceries at La Comer or some of the other supermarkets, I go to the vegetable shops or stands and to the bakery for my bread and I find it to be much cheaper. Restaurants definitely are getting expensive but again I go get tacos for $1 each and stick to the restaurants in neighborhoods other than downtown or on the beaches. I don’t drink so not sure about booze prices. I find though most things are cheaper than the States. A meager lunch for two in San Diego will cost you $75 dollars. Yes, real estate prices have gone up but I really think that sellers will get realistic pretty quickly here as I am seeing a lot of price reductions on listings. That tells me we are leveling off and may even experience a small drop. If you ever planned on selling bows the time before that happens. Thanks again for your comments and input.

How hot an humid is it there between may ,jun ? Vs jul,aug ? I'm going Somewhere soon in those times and comparing vs going back to Thailand, Vietnam, PIsl areas. Thanks for what you do ! Mahalo from Maui 🤙

Hi. Thanks for your comment. May and June is when it starts to heat up in PV but it’s still very tolerable. July and August is usually when the rains start and humidity increases but the rain does bring some relief. August, September and October are the highest humidity months and it can get uncomfortable. However if you limit your outdoor travel in the middle of the day and do shopping or errands earlier in the morning it will mitigate your exposure to the humidity. Of course you will use your home’s A/C more during these three months. By November the humidity decreases.

What is the best way to open an accunt prior to fly to Puerto Vallarta? Would you suggest any Real Estate or rental agency to book prior arrival. Many thx

Hi Marco. Can you be more specific. What do you mean by “open an account”?

3 questions- If I get sick or hurt, will I get ok treatment? I've heard horror stories of foreigners being shaken down for$$$ for simple care and surgeries. These all happened near cancun and alcupolco. 2- what are good sites to check for rentals? 3- can I open a bank account as an expat? Thanks!!!

Hi Ken. You will get excellent treatment if you get sick or are injured. The horror stories you have heard concern payment for treatment. Even if you have medical insurance in Mexico most hospitals don’t bill the insurance company like they do in the States. You are expected to pay before being released from the hospital and then send the bills to your insurance who then reimburse you. It’s not a great system but that’s the way they do it. If you can’t pay them then there have been instances where they won’t let you go until you pay and these are probably the scenarios you have read about. Yes you can open a bank account in Mexico as an expat. All you need is your passport. There are many Facebook groups for rentals in PV but here is one o refer people to often….facebook.com/share/iSFYaL2D47BeqzEj/?mibextid=K35XfP Hope this all helps. Keep coming back to my channel. Cheers and thanks. Stan

Please don't , me & my wife just got back to Germany, we got a Kidnap attempt. We used to live in Playa del Carmen. A lot of Narco in the city, in Cancún, Tulum all the Peninsula area, bur realtors would never said that, government never says it. Please keep your family safe, Mexico is not even that cheap at this point.
@LIVINGINPUERTOVALLARTAMEXICO10 ай бұрын
Wow! So sorry to hear that you encountered a kidnap attempt. That’s awful. I am assuming that this happened in the Yucatan peninsula and not in Puerto Vallarta. It’s my understanding that Cancun, Playa Del Carmen and Tulum have experienced increases in narco activity and even violence. I know that Mérida on the other hand is one of the safest cities in all the Americas. Again, if you get involved in drug activity the chances are good that you’ll get in some kind of trouble. There are also scammers out there but those jerks are everywhere. Puerto Vallarta is a safe city and I think much safer than a lot of cities in the U.S. As for cost of living, yes it has gone up but it’s still a heck of a lot cheaper than the States and Canada. I wish you well. Cheers.

@@LIVINGINPUERTOVALLARTAMEXICO its the whole country, in Jalisco you have CJNG Cartel...you can sugar coat it all you want. I dont wish you to experience what my family did, I just hope that, in any case you experience it, I really wish you dont come accross someone with such a dumb excuse such as yours. Regards, and stay safe.
@LIVINGINPUERTOVALLARTAMEXICO10 ай бұрын
@@mvudo8832 Thanks for your response. I never claimed there was no cartel activity in Puerto Vallarta. In fact I said that there was in my video. I do not know the circumstances of what happened to you and your family and would never diminish the bad experience you had but this is not typical or an everyday occurrence here in PV. I do take exception to the fact that somehow you think I am making “dumb” excuses or sugar coating anything. I am simply stating facts and my experience. Have a nice day and I’m happy you are home safely.

I understand all of that. But I do t live here to save money. PV is the best place people. Everyone cool. Locals are awesome. Vacations love the place. Expats know.
