Aww man this took me down memory lane! I used to work in Kotz from 2014-2015. Everything looks exactly the same! Even down to the dog mushers on the ice! The first time I had sheefish was insane and you've got me craving it all over again, so nostalgic. I also had the same reaction to seal oil lol. Remarkable life you live. Spent 10 months with the North Slope Borough, Law Enforcement stationed in Point Hope. We flew our prisoners to Kotz. Spent the next 20 years on the oil field. Love it when you're in Alaska.

I had seal oil once when I was in Alaska… my brother in law was stationed on the AFB there in Anchorage and I went to visit one end of summer where the all day begins to turn into all night… we went way up north to one of the Eskimo villages that a buddy of his was from… I got to experience the Northern Lights for the first and only time in my life… I had to laugh at "summer" as it was freezing!!!! We had a couple hours of day light and then it was dark the rest of the day… I couldn’t imagine living like that full time! But that Seal oil, man, Mav is right about it being an Acquired taste… but the sheefish is absolutely DELICIOUS….
