I'm surprised that they didn't ask each other why they weren't a Republican, because it might have been harder for the mole to bash their own party. Or at least they might reveal themselves in the process of doing so. Why are you a democrat? -I agree with the stances, I'm gay/Iranian/black, etc. Versus: why aren't you a republican? -and then they proceed to bash the party, their stances, and decisions. I feel like that would have helped prove who was a Democrat, because a lot of Republican stances come from a deeply rooted religious belief and therefore that would make it difficult for them to speak badly about their stances.

I really hate this idea that you have to pick either emotions or rational thinking. You can care deeply about things, be super empathetic or passionate or whatever, but still think rationally and base your beliefs on evidence. We have both for a reason. Being an emotionless psychopath is not something to aspire to be. I know you’ve not suggested that, to be clear. I’ve just seen too many people spouting nonsense like “facts don’t care about feelings”, as if the existence of facts negates the relevance of feelings. We’d live in a dark and valueless world without our feelings. Sometimes it’s good to act on your emotions, so long as you’re not being irrational in the process.

Twitter (and other social media platforms) also creates the illusion of how the world thinks and acts. It seems like most people on Twitter are left-leaning when it comes to politics, so people assume that's how most of America and the rest of the world thinks when it's not even close to that. That's why things like Donald Trump's win and Bernie Sander's loss was such a shock to many people on Twitter. It's like a loud minority vs. a silent majority.

This whole game is based on stereotypes on how a certain demographic would or wouldn't look like. The point is to focus on inconveniences of stories and values to find out who's the mole. Sometimes they break stereotypes, see beyond them and win the prize, but sometimes they don't and that's how the mole wins (eg: here). So it's a common thing, it has happened in other episodes. And besides we're all guilty of relying on stereotypes so it shouldn't be a big deal as they're making it out to be on the comments.
