Education( and health) in this country should be free .If not the poor people would not recieve any education.That's basic.Where would AKD have been today , if not for the free education system?In Europe Education is free except in the UK after Thatcher. A few years ago when the granddaughter of Ivor Jennings visited Srilanka to unveil the statute of Jennings she said her grandfather went to these heights through the benefit of free education he recieved in the UK and more importantly she added if he had been born today this wouldn't have happened!

This is a useless discussion,as I can see. We do not have to worry about the percentage of financial allocation as it is only an arbitrary guideline. To start with, that would do for experts to formulate systems required for a quality and standardised education. The percentage that set apart may or may not be adequate for the purpose which will only be noticed when the project is actually implemented. This guideline was established that was prevailed in the past when it was practically possible to allocate depending on the GDP at that stage. Therfore people of your calibre should able to prepare a project and present it to the authorities, for consideration in my opinion. The negative attitude of looking down on an arbitrarily established guide line will not help develop the education in this country. Also it is not clear who could be the target group for whom this discussion is directed at since there is lot of gibberish involved in this video.
