To be honest, he has an accent while speaking mandarin. But it's still acceptable.
@kindswordhuang10424 жыл бұрын
@@armandz2137 yes, you can definitely tell he is not native mandarin speaker, but his pronunciation is 100% correct. That accent actually makes him sounds cuter. I wouldn't use "acceptable", I would use "wonderful".

Hi Chris, I am a native French and English speaker and consider myself fluent in Spanish. I am currently learning Chinese and have some comments on what you say in your videos. I do understand what you are saying when you emphasise on the consonant/vowel connection but from my experience these technical details tend to be quite confusing and are not really applied once you are faced with a real life conversation. I think it is the Chinese equivalent of saying 不 becomes a second tone when it is followed by a 4th tone. I mostly focus on word pairs, for instance 不要 for me is not 不 + 要 in which case I would have to remember to change 不 s tone to a second tone. I actually just see it as 不要 I've been learning Chinese for a little over 2 months now (I am currently in Beijing) and I can understand basic conversations and participate in them. I have put 0 focus on rules and pure grammar as I've read some papers saying that it doesn't make sense to do so as long as you have not reached basic fluency in the language. I spend 5 hours a day learning the language or speaking it so I am not in the same situation other people might be. Also I am far from being good in Chinese and so my opinion might change in the future. Overall I guess my point is that exposure to the language as well as learning patterns and sentences are more important than learning rules. Then again, your impressive language skills and your different approach to learning languages are a proof that your method works, I just think that focusing on rules might not be for everyone.
@cks63684 жыл бұрын
Absolutely i think the basic rules are important But after you are familiar with the language, you should definitely expose yourself to the environment I am also learning Spanish through Duolingo and i found that although i have learnt the rules, my progress starts to plateau Btw i think for chinese, the difficult point is that every character bear multiple meanings, and they have to be considered as both separated and combined Eg 不要= dont/ i dont want 不= no/ dont/ generally negative meanings So you have to know when to separate it or combine them
