I think everyone has those pivotal life changing moments. It's what we do in that moment which will define the outcome in our lives. My moment was kinda like Amon's. I just "retired" from the Army last year and quickly got a federal job cause that's what everyone in my area does. But within the first few weeks of seeing all these 60+ year olds still working because they feel they have to support their lifestyle made me realize I either need to make A LOT more money for my lifestyle or completely change it. Now there's nothing wrong with working in your 60's, but I don't want to feel I have to do anything I don't want to do anymore. I didn't retire from one job just to get attached to another. Thank you two for the inspiration or become more.

I am feeling really paralyzed these days and I know this is one of those pivotal moments in my life, but I just don’t know what I want to do next at the moment....I have been working for the same company for 33 years. Like many, I grew up in a time when people dedicated their lives to a company and the company would “take care of you” offering jobs to your spouse and children...It was not uncommon for generations of people to work at the same company. Those days and that mentality is long gone...With the pandemic, my company shut down and furloughed most of its workers. Next thing I know, I got a letter in the mail offering me early retirement. It’s sad and unsettling that such a long career has come to and end this way, but I decided to take the offer, and with a humble heart, I will look for a new job and new opportunities. I am so glad I came across your channel. Thanks again.

I’m 55 y.o. and I wish I have known you before. I already maximize my 457b deductions, I opened a Roth IRA in Vanguard an put the max. I’m also going to invest in other Funds (following your advice). You see, I thought I was going to retire living only out of my government pension, but now I’m excited to see how I create a better future for my wife and children (P.S.
