I just turned 31 on July 10th. I’ve really learned how to not take anything for granted. One day I’m perfectly fine and the next I’m diagnosed with thyroid cancer. The past year has been endless doctor appts and feeling crappy. Cancer is gone but still have doc appts every month and medication to take the rest of my life. Live your life the best you can, have fun, you never know when obstacles will be placed in your path.

Tasha, you are such an inspiration to me. I love love LOVE this video. You're a very wise lady--you remind me of my own mama! I would love to meet you in person one day--meet up plans?? Your discussion about identifying as a lawyer...and then making a huge pivot (!!) really spoke to me. I'm younger than you (22!) but I'm also making a huge pivot in my career and my life. I realized during my senior year in college that I felt a lot of moral conflict about my chosen career. My industry would ask me to do things that didn't align with my values...and I couldn't continue on that path. During my senior year, my parents both had serious health struggles, which lead me to a new vocation--I want to help people lead healthy lives. I'm going back to school to become a nurse practitioner, and I'm filled to the brim with excitement. Making this 360 was TERRIFYING, but I'm so glad I had the courage to pursue this path, despite the naysayers.

Good for you and it’s great that you’re doing it now as opposed to getting too involved in your original field and feeling the regret. I know many people who didn’t make that choice and feel trapped in their current fields.

I finally had the day that changed my mindset at work. I work in retail, and I hate it, but in my mind, I always come up with an excuse as to why I have to stay. (Bills, whatever) Well one awful day I just had it, and decided no more, and enrolled in a dental assisting course. I think I want to go onto prosthetics, but this is just the first stepping stone. Have to do this, before I can do that type thing. I too have come to the realisation the time is more important than money, even though I have plenty of time, and no money. 😂 I know I don’t want to be spending my time at that job, and would much rather be studying for the job I want. I’m 27, and cannot, and will not be in retail when I’m 60!

Thank you so much for this heart-to heart! It´s always a huge boost of positive energy to hear: "You CAN do this". Everybody thinks that just because you are a "grown up" you automatically know how to do things and you won´t change anything...and if you do, again, everybody assumes you will know how to... I´m 46 and also making a huge change, career related. Thank you for this, today, because I´m a grown up and I don´t know sometimes how to do things.

You're such an inspiration to me. I have been set with the career I am going into since age ten and I first started getting volunteer jobs and positions at twelve- so quite early on and I have still stuck with it because it truly is my passion and what I love most in life but it makes me feel so much better to know that someone as successful as you still makes these big life pivots and also has doubts from time to time. I've been having to make a lot of important life decisions lately and I am so terrified I'm choosing the wrong path but this gives me hope that even if I choose poorly I can try again and make my dreams come true regardless. Thank you.

The last lesson was very inspiring! I am now in the point in my life that me and my husband want to go into 2 completely different directions and we need to make a choice together. I would love to stick to the easy choice which is just staying where we are now (literally :D) and he wants to challange himself and our family and go somewhere else and that would allow us to grow on many levels, including financially. Thank you for saying that it's not supposed to be easy! I needed to hear that. I agree, it should be hard sometimes so later it can be different :) This past year I have grown a lot, I found out that being an adult can be fun, I am almost 29, married with 2 small children and I didn't want to grow up... Now I am finally letting myself grow and it feels so good! And part of my growth is thanks to your channel - you are really helping people with your work. Thank you!

Happy birthday! After my uncle suddenly died, I finally booked tickets and in few months started the journey of my dreams and completed the round the world. Don’t let fear shape your life is smth I learnt while being on the road. The pressure people around you put on you to have a certain life is insane, but I also found that we put pressure on ourselves. This year I felt myself being a looser in the eyes of the others, but on my birthday I heard from one person that I’m so inspirational because I follow my own path. Anyways 30s are liberating and fun, enjoy them 😉

You definitely made me realize when saying that you can change what you want to be “when you grow up” at any time. I’ll be 29 in 2 months and I have been a stay at home mom for almost 3 years, a month before my son was born I quit my job. I only quit because I wasn’t making a lot at all per hour and realized that daycare costs would have left me with taking home $150 per month... so we have relied solely on my husband’s income since then and it’s tough but I have an associates degree in early childhood education so 2 more years of school will give me an education degree to be an elementary school teacher which I always wanted to be. So maybe one day! My life isn’t over just because I’m not working until my son goes to kindergarten!

Oh man. All the feels! I can relate so much to what you said here. I'm 34 and having a baby hasn't been easy for us either. I try to focus on what is within my control and accept or let go of whatever is not in my control. While also appreciating all the beautiful parts of my life. We are so blessed in so many ways. Life isn't always what we expect it will be or think it should be. After my grandmother died I realized that I want quality over quantity. Once I let go of my expectations for others my marriage and relationships improved. I didn't even realize I was expecting all this stuff of other people or feeling responsible for them but that has really held me back and it didn't make things any better for them either. I want to be able to accept people as they are and love them from that place. Thank you so much for making this insightful, deep video. It fed my soul. Also happy birthday! 🎁🎊🎉🎈🎂

Happy delayed birthday! And thank you so much because I needed so badly to hear this to gain back some strength: I'm 36 right now and this year I made the decision to quit my ten year old job which I used to enjoyed, but the environment there slowly turned into a toxic one and I was miserable. Now I'm on a completely different field and right now I'm not making as much money as I used to make, even though I actually enjoy this new adventure and I started to feel insecure and scared even though I'm more careful with how I spend my income and save a lot. And of course, I've been heavily critized for quiting the safety of my former lifestyle. I was very driven at first, but these insecurities started to taking a toll on me these past few days.

Happy belated birthday! One thing I have learned in 27 years is that I don’t have to wait to be happy. I can be happy now and not wait for the things that I want in life to start enjoying my life. I can and should enjoy my life now as it is knowing that it will change at some point, whether the change be good or bad. People usually don’t realize how good they have it until it is no longer that way anymore, and I don’t want to live my life like that. I have been through a lot in my life, but thankfully I am at a wonderful place right now where I am extremely blessed. It’s not all rainbows all the time, but when I put things into perspective I really can’t complain. Things can always be worse, no matter what you’re going through. There are things that I am looking forward to in the future, but I am enjoying my life as it is now in the mean time.

Happy Birthday, Tasha! I love this update and these lessons. Some of these I also came to terms with in the last couple years (at age 37 and 38) -- especially how time is more important than money. When I realized that lesson, it was like a two-by-four to the head. My dad died in June 2015 at 68, planning to retire at 70. He never got there, and I didn't want to spend my time anymore worrying about money when it didn't matter. Money matters to an extent, of course, but that experience really made me think about how I'm spending my time -- and how I'm spending my money.

Any advice would be helpful, thank you for being transparent 😍😊😘
