Thanks to technology, we're able to collect a ton of useful information but often, we rely on technology so much so that we stop trusting our feeling. While it's always good to have tools to help understand our bodies more, we need to entrust our brains to do part of its job, which is to monitor our vitals and act upon it. Transform your running for good and find out in this video how you can fine tune your feeling and calibrate your brain to your sports watch.
Please feel free to comment if you have questions. Really hope this can help some of you!

If this video or any other video on this channel has brought you value and you would like to thank me, consider buying me a coffee here: ko-fi.com/safemotions. I like my iced lattes :) As a mini youtuber, I have no income from KZbin, so your caffeinated drink will be very very much appreciated. If not, just let me know I've helped in the comments, that's already extremely gratifying.

Very good clip, Stephane! Beautiful footage, so many motorcycles! Yah, I totally agree with NOT stopping after an uphill!

Thanks for watching Mihai. Yeah, during a race, for me, it's so discouraging if you stop uphill.

That's true! Feeling the body is something I learned because i haven't used any fancy watches in the past, just my Timex, and honestly he worked always better! Even during racing it was better! Of course you can double checks your feeling with the running dynamics, and looks to the trends during the weeks to check overall improvements. Nice video as always!

Great advice here on dehydration and becoming more aware of the signals from your body! And beware the dreaded Land Shark! Keep pushing!

I really like those ideas on running by feel. So many times I’m always looking at my watch. I agree with the hill running. There are a lot of hills here in Arkansas and I have the same strategy of going slower up the hill. Great running footage.

Great video Stephane! I try to cue into my body and listen what it tells me. I’m going to try these two tests!

Great video Stephane. My garmin tells me to take a rest day after I am dressed and push the start button. It waits till the last minute. My brain tells me to stop about 50 miles then troubles me with hallucinations late in races to trouble me after I don't listen to it. I think it is amazing we can run a 10k and be only a few seconds per mile different day to day unless doing a speed workout.

Haha, both the watch and the brain need calibrating... I think both are useful to each other.

Great information. I have a Garmin that does it all but all I ever look at is pace and heart rate while running. I never ever use any other features. Perhaps I should or shouldn't.

I guess there might be some things to look at, from the watch. But for me they are often details. A fait analysis is better in my opinion. And yes, pacing and heart rate. That's all you need. And the time, it's a watch after all 😂

@@SafeMotions The truth hurts.... My grandma is faster than me. Jking aside, I would be curious to see how the calibration and conditioning goes for new runners due to all the variables. It has taken me a long time to learn how to listen to my body and I still get it wrong.

@@TrailSage Good point Sage! Most new runners I've trained actually didn't have a watch. So we'd put pacers to run with them or place cones on the track and time them between cones. They'd quite quickly learn to feel if too fast or not. It's not fail proof, but neither are the watches. The best is to combine the two and evaluate which one will be most trustworthy during the race. Or use a combination.

Are we allowed to stop to film a clip of us running up the hill? I struggle to keep going under those conditions 😁👍🏻🏃‍♂️

If it's for KZbin, you're even allowed to put the camera down, film yourself running uphill and turn around to pick up the camera.
