Hey tommy. Carbon fiber is known to be non permeable to electromagnetic waves. If that carbon piece on your antenna is real, it is DEFINITELY affecting your signal.

I'm picking up my '17 M3 Competition Pack in Azurite Black later this week, and I watched all of your M3 videos to get an idea of what the experience would be like. Mine will be a DCT though as it's a lease assumption and I haven't owned an automatic car in 10+ years, so I figured I'd give it a shot for a daily driver and see what it's like. Amazing car, I'm an Audi fan, currently own a RS7 and a A3, my biggest dilema is trading my A3 to get a Rs3 or a Manual m3, even though the rs3 is a little bit better mechanically (more reliable and least expensive to maintain) the M3 gives the option to have a manual one. The Carbon Fiber Antenna cover is definitely killing your sat nav and sat radio, check out the reviews of the cover, that's the complaint everyone mentions. M Performance LCI shift knob is weighted even heavier and has matching stitching if you want to stick with genuine M parts.

Tommy L Garage You can order that from real oem, they have it. The LCI shifter and the other shifter are the exact same throw that's a common mistake people make thank you that the knob changes the length of the throw, and it actually sets half an inch lower than the other one, we have all 3 here so it's easy for us to line them up

I KNEW I saw temporary WI tags on an earlier video of yours... I got all excited and thought you were local; but you just bought it here and took it back East. Did you get it in Milwaukee? I did the opposite. Bought my e92M3 in Virginia (manual of course, after a nation-wide search), and drove it back to Wisconsin. Then, 9 months later I went back East to pick up a cheap Jag for my work/winter car on Staten Island (another manual, since that is all I do...). I never considered an M4 since I need the car for baby duty too...back door was a must. This was really the only car I considered - and an S4. My goal was to have a performance sedan with a manual transmission.

Bought a lightly used F80 almost a year ago and pretty happy with it. Specd similarly to yours with the CP, manual trans, and moonroof (although I wish it was the CF one). It’s the Alpine white, which is never bad but I have to say, yas marina blue is without a doubt the best color on this car. Never get tired of looking at it. Was your M performance shifter dealer installed?

Tommy L Garage not sure. My real true love is the 911. It’s just not practical though. Had a C2S for a few years and it was truly amazing. For now the M3, as you aptly put it, is the best sports sedan on the market and practical as well. Soon I will need to start modding it out. Can someone explain to me the bmw lure. Don’t really think that the bmw brand has the prestige it once had. I have only owned one bmw 3 series in 2004. Not a good car by any barometer. Very undependable which kills your feelings. Recently drove a caddy v sport and used Chevy ss. The bmw May have better interiors but the driving is no way better on the beemer.

Different strokes for different folks. I went without the comp pack because I didn’t like the seats, wheels, or farting exhaust. My dealer will put on the M Perf Exhaust if I want to buy it later. Also, the carbon fiber roof is just part of M3 ownership, IMO!

Nice Video Tommy. I have a 2017 F80 Comp Pack mine has only 6300 miles...all factory. It makes a clicking noise from the engine before start up when you open the passenger or driver's door to get in very strange. Again this is before it starts/turn on ignition. I researched forums and found the same issue with some other F80 Comp packs...here is a link of someone with the same issue as mine! In the forums they are saying it's the valvetronic motor that needs replacing! Taking my to the dealer...again it does it intermittent before start up and the car runs fine otherwise, very weird. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pGfJfayliLhmo9U

Carl J I actually forgot to mention it - I had the same thing once and took it to the dealer. They had it for a few days and decided it is normal. They won’t be able to replicate it. And if they do they’ll say it’s normal. Car is under warranty so I won’t bother.

I spoke to a bunch of M3 owners about it and everyone said not to worry. Maybe it’s a software glitch that BMW will eventually figure out, but the way I see it as long as I’m under warranty and I will not void the warranty then I should be OK. Let me know if anything else comes up

If Alfa starts throwing 4 leaf clovers all over the place like candy on Halloween, I would go CRAZY !!
