Chris, If you are building a Road Case using 3/8" wood you would purchase our 3/8" rivets. They are long enough work on 3/8" ply + our ABS Laminate + our Aluminum Extrusions + our Road Case Hardware. Range 3/8" to 1/2" means that they will work for combined material thicknesses of 3/8" to 1/2". The same scenario would hold true for the 1/8", 1/4" and 1/2" rivets we sell. Hope this helps.

Double Angle Extrusions don't need to be mitered. Look closely at video 6 of 11 @ about 1:03. I think Andy explains this very well. Hope this helps.

Adding everything to my cart from their website to make amp cases, it seems that buying one pre-made is cheaper. But these videos are great!

You've got a good eye Rick - the panels for the lid were cut about 3-1/2". Thanks for the note.

If using a miter box, why not miter the cut to a 45°?

Snapping apart the tongue and groove may be fine with your special fixture. But I am building a 6' long case and find that I am bending the hell out of my "snap apart" pieces while trying to take them apart. Its very very difficult to do well!

ok last question i promise...... what is the inside measurement of the extrusion? where the actual wood is supposed to fit? Is it exactly 3/8? or 13/32 ect...

Great video! Thanks! I must have missed the reason for the screw, instead of another rivet. What's the reason?

Extrusions are designed to accommodate standard plywood + our 0.040" ABS Laminate.

Good question - The laminate does not add any significant strength. Additional strength and rigidity would be gained from the wood thickness. We'd recommend 3/8" ply would for your case.

Id like to build an amp rack road case but like some extra help and whatever utilizes the most for the extrusions without waste and what height of wood you need to cut if you wanna use 12U 14 16U racks as id like to make a 24" box not including the covers so I have space in the box for wires and maybe close the back off with fans to suck heat out

Why are we cutting only the T&G extrusions at a 45° miter but cutting the double angle straight across? Shouldn't they be mitered too?

For double angle extrusion 12" - 18" rivet spacing is good. Thanks for the question Mario!

In the video, it's mentioned that you can use a chop saw to cut the aluminum. Any special blade or technique required?

What kind of strength does abs laminate add to 1/4" plywood held together by 1/4" extrusions. its tough to decipher on ones own. I am going to build a case 33 x9x 7 top and bottom combined - wondering if I am better off going to 3/8". However my thought is that 3/8 might be too heavy for a handheld type case. . max weight might only be 8 -10 lbs.maybe even more like 3. the bowing of wood is a concern cause we all know 1/4 "ply is kinda wavy flimsy and bowie like. Any thoughts?

great video - I can't figure out what length of rivet to use. Your parts list just says " Grip Range 3/8'' to 1/2'" what does this mean? Do I need a longer rivet when I'm going through the latch + extrusion? thanks!
