Snapping apart the tongue and groove may be fine with your special fixture. But I am building a 6' long case and find that I am bending the hell out of my "snap apart" pieces while trying to take them apart. Its very very difficult to do well!

Hey there! Great video! Do you have guidance on how to measure and cut for the recessed clamps? I’m trying to convert 4 traditional hinges to a few twist lock clamps

I have a 20 year-old custom guitar case and the tension gets too tight before I can completely close my latches. Is there something I can do to loosen up the tension?

I'd use a mitre saw and cut the aluminum with proper angle cuts .

Great video but using contact cement that seam will split after a while. Its extra work but if you need that seam to last you have to use Elmers or Titebond on just that area. I leave an inch or two inches unglued(with contact cement) and then finish with Titebond. Of course you need to move the seam inboard a bit to do this.

im have this project build 4 cases for my uplight system but I was looking for some double tongues or T corners so the bottom rack will have a grove to lock on to the top base and preventing from sliding while moving. I know this may sound very cracy but im trying to save every inch of space. those cup on lids where they lock the wheels are very dsngerous and very difficult to make them seat. not very efficien.... any ideas. besides those cups, or maybe there you have new hardware to stack casez on top of eachother.... thank you Oscar V. aka dj kaoz.

dude, you are missing some major steps and tips. your carpet is obviously not straight, and overhangs in the corner. no explanation of type of carpet (poly types that break down and leave tons of shedding in your gear). No mention of padded backer (behind a carpet). layup of the sides in a sequence is critical to cover the bottom seams. finishing the edge trim makes or breaks a good interior. ignoring the finishing steps makes for a horribly bad "DIY" hackjob. Sorry, but this isn't a professional resource.

Outstanding instructional video! If you could change one thing I would reccomend "step up" drilling. That is, start with a smaller drill size and work your way up. Those large drills tend to want to "walk" off center.

Hey Andy, Great video! I customize EVERYTHING. So this is very helpful. Dry mounting is the BEST way to go with Tolex. (I did not realize this until I watched this video). The heat gun is something that seems obvious, but I didn't use it the last time I customized my cab, nor did I top cut the seem. (seems,... I didn't have enough Tolex to properly cover my Marshall head. Had to piece it together,.. What a mess),.... Long/short of it, I'm redoing the Tolex on my cab and head and it will look sweet this time. Thanks! Wine Taurus cab and Head with LED lighting in the speaker chambers and the head,... The head has a piece of acrylic in place of the Marshall logo cover, and the back has a hinged trap door to access the inside of the head to change tubes.

This maybe really old to get a response but I was wondering if a caster board can be attached to an ABS molded rack case?

As with any case you'd need to take care to seal the bolt holes to preserve the waterproof aspect of your molded case. Don't over tighten the bolts as you could crack the case. It's been many times. Have fun! ReliableDan - Retired

about the ball corner clamp rivets at 1:06 - aren't you just riveting into wood with no backup washers? Won't that just crush the plywood?
