Tl; dr: Thank you for reminding me that art process is just different for everybody! Tips on the internet arent bad, but everybody works different. So I have picked up a few things by just watching the inking process! Especially with the "textury" things. I have the same exact dip pen lying around, but have been hesitant to use it. I have seen Heikala use it and now Allison. I have a bad relationship to dip pens, because along watercolor that was the medium that we were forced to use in school almost exclusively with a particular teacher. This teacher managed to make even the artist-kids hate art, sadly. Since then I have already healed my relationship with watercolor and it is actually the medium I am most comfy with. Its uncontrollable nature reminds me to stay true to my painting preferences. I adore Allisons art and love watching her process. And often I am so inspired to to make similar art. And while doing it, I do absolutely not enjoy the process and have to force myself to finish it. I would call her way of doing it very well planned and thought through. Also very controlled brush/penmanship. While I love seeing art like this, the art I enjoy painting or drawing always has this chaotic, random nature. Always with just head empty, let the hand do the thing. This is why when they shared they've tried out tips and approaches from other people, it wasn't necessairily bad - but the process is just individual to every person, and one's gotta discover their own way of doing things eventually. Edit: Also, thank you for being open about your faith. You don't push anything to others or preach or whatever. you just share how you experience it or what role it takes in your life. And, while I myself am not religious, I think the way you go about it is beautiful and should be an example to many other people how to go about it.

First of all, thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment, and for your super kind words! It truly means the world to me. 💛 Dip pens are definitely a little scary when first starting out, but they are a roller-coaster of fun! I got mine at the recommendation of Cosmic Spectrum here on KZbin. She loves the G-nib in particular. I tried to make the G-nib work for me for SO LONG, but I finally discovered that I prefer the Nikko "spoon" nib (once again, reminding myself that other artists' processes/fav supplies won't necessarily by mine too!) It absolutely breaks my heart that your teacher made such a mess of your relationship with dip pens and watercolors. That's incredibly frustrating. But I'm so glad you've healed your relationship with watercolors! Those kinds of stories are always a good reminder of me of how NOT to be a teacher. No art teacher should make a student hate art. And thank you for what you said about my faith. I never want to shove my beliefs down anyone's throat, but simply share how my faith impacts my own life. I love when we can listen to and respect one another's beliefs even when we don't always agree. 💛

Personally, I’ve been watching your videos for a long time and I didn’t know that you had products or a shop. I think if you changed up your vlogs into studio vlogs and showed your audience what you have or will have to offer that will help you 😊

I have to wonder… Is she the writer who is imaging the adventures of foraging girl… Or is she the older version reminiscing about her adventures? This inking really sparked some curiosity in me. Lovely lovely chat.
