I am not having difficulties but I do have a question 🤔- what happens when your guy doesnt have frequent contact with his family so his family doesnt get to see how you interact? I have been with my partner living together for 1.5 years and haven't met anyone until recently. They know about me. His sister has sent messages saying to tell me hello or asking him how i am doing. His son just moved in with us and he seems to like how we interact. I am getting along well with his son. Most of his family lives far away. Mine does too. Any advice?

Fortunately, it doesn’t sound like his family has any issue with you. It just seems that he has chosen to be estranged from his family. If the sister keeps reaching out, I would try to build on that connection with her. But maybe this is a time now to start asking your partner, what has happened in his life to prompt disconnect? Congratulations on your year and a half of living together and enjoying his son.

I do have one deep question for you however. What reasons do you think brings an older woman and a younger man together if their own free will? I have noticed I find myself in this situation more often than not, and it has perplexed me on why that is.

It's such a shame, I am 5.5 years older than my boyfriend and in my head it has become the biggest thing in the world. I am certain he is going to leave me one day for being too 'old' which is silly as we are the same generation and apart from numbers on the paper I don't feel an age difference at all and neither does he. 39 yr age difference between my bf & I ... me being older ... I'm older than his parents lol We've been together 16 months & are in love with each other...I'm not anticipating meeting them either. They are also in a different country, so that helps. My family is very embracing. At the same time, they were skeptical initially, yet see how happy & suited we are together...he treats me like a Queen & I reciprocate in kind. He is a very sweet, loving, compassionate man & I do not care what anyone else thinks! One day at a time & living in the moment is key for me! BTW if it's good enough for Cher it's good enough for me!!
