What surprised you about labor?

Hearing the fact that it might not be as bad as you think is really really encouraging, helps to create a strong positive mentality that will also help greatly when it is time. Thank you so much for sharing, these are things people don’t really talk about, very unpopular and very educative

I watched so many videos about labor and delivery before having my son and definitely feel like this one would have helped so much. What surprised me about my labor was how quickly it went. I had my son after just 6 hours and it also surprised me how great it felt to push and get to the pushing stage. I did not feel in control of my body and it was really difficult to relax and not work against my body and fight the contractions. When I got to the pushing stage though it was amazing to be able to work with my body. I also had a homebirth and it was the most amazing experience!

Aww wow thank you so much!! Oh ya I totally know what you mean about the pushing and that really is a great point. It definitely felt good in a way to feel like I was actively doing something during that phase instead of fighting the urge to tense up during contractions like you said. That’s amazing that you had a homebirth though and I’m so happy that it sounds like overall you had a positive birth experience too ❤️❤️

The amount of pressure you get when it's time to push!😳 I was not prepared for that.
