VW has been improving the integration of navigating with CarPlay and the HUD, have you seen if the conditioning on route planner also works when using either Apple Maps or Google Maps?
@KrisRifaАй бұрын
No, precondition does not work when using Apple Carplay.

Fantastic car, and good upgrade on the UI compared to before but a much better infotainment system than the one in Tesla… that’s a mystery to me how you can reach that conclusion.😅 Also a big disappointment is that VW isn’t offering a one pedal drive option, this alone is a deal breaker for me. Tesla (and maybe Polestar) is unmatched when it comes to one pedal drive calibration and throttle mapping. VW needs to step up their game in this regard.

Have a secondary screen, have optionally a HUD, way better smartphone integration and now finally snappy and way more functionality than the limited Tesla infotainment. Granted it was leading 5 years ago, but it didn’t evolve, even with monthly updates … Look Tesla is not bad and the route planning battery conditioning where miles ahead … but the world has since evolved. I had a Model X, it really is ancient in regards to my iX, even though it had 2 displays … One pedal drive is OK, but real regenerative braking with the brake pedal is way more relaxed and as effective, Tesla never could do the blended braking to work, I love the fact I can take of my foot of the accelerator and coast efficiently on longer trips … Last, my Model X was already a raven version with the efficient motors, yet it was less effiecent than my iX … yes it was faster but that second difference is hard let ever used on public roads and I can not tell the difference in red ight racing 🤪

Just drive with the adaptive cruise control, it even brakes by itself before roundabouts. 🤷
@thorsev6960Ай бұрын
@@abraxastulammo9940that’s not replacing one pedal driving. Main advantage of OPD is in low speed city driving and ACC isn’t going to be suitable in all the situations that come about.
@yvesvandenbroek6055Ай бұрын
@@thorsev6960 OPD is just a poor substitute to true blended braking, Porsche even refuses to implement it, brake is for braking accelerator is for accelerating! As it should be, I drive several cars I would go nuts on different behavior
@thorsev6960Ай бұрын
@@yvesvandenbroek6055Porsche is just being stubborn. When you get used to OPD you don’t want anything else. Thankfully Audi has brought OPD in its latest models, Porsche and the rest of the VW Group will follow eventually.

In Germany a red Model Y LR on 20 inch wheels and with tow bar comes at 62k. Similarly specced, red, ID.7 GTX Tourer comes at 72k. That’s a big price difference… For ID.7 I added the following packages: Exterieurpaket "Plus" inkl. "Smart Glas"-Panoramadach Interieurpaket "Plus" 3 Komfortpaket Wärmepumpe zur Reichweitenoptimierung
@KrisRifaАй бұрын
I literally showed similar specced cars in the video and the difference was 5k Euro, and not 10K. Sure you can spec the ID.7 GTX more so the difference is 10K, but then you are getting more also. Ventilated seats, HUD, adaptive dampers etc. They are impossible to spec 100% identical. So the real difference is 5K when you consider the Model Y gets some stuff the ID.7 doesn't and vice versa.
@thorsev6960Ай бұрын
@@KrisRifa you put white seats on the Tesla right? Why? And also left out heat pump on the ID.7? Why? I think you did a bit of “massaging” to reach the 5k difference. Also I feel like when you say the ID.7 is better in every way, your starting to sound biased against Tesla…
@KrisRifaАй бұрын
@@thorsev6960 upgraded interior on both. As I said, you're not able to get identical specs on both. The ID.7 has usable battery that is 11kWh more, so I don't think heat pump is necessary in Germany to make the comparison fair. In Norway fully specced the ID.7 is about 2000 Euro more than the Model Y. An unlike at Tesla, you're gonna get a dealer discount at VW that is gonna be significant. I'm guessing somewhere between 2-4K Euro depending on how good you are at haggling. So my original point still stands, get the ID.7 GTX Tourer instead of a Model Y.
@Jooga31Ай бұрын
@@KrisRifa plus I also think a purely spec-list comparison is not fair as Id.7 has a lot better quality-feel to it compared to cheapish Teslas.
@thorsev6960Ай бұрын
@@KrisRifa the upgrade in the Tesla is just about color (unlike in the case of the VW) the obvious comparison would be to leave it dark like in the VW. Heat pump isn’t only about range it’s also about efficiency and thermal regulation. Again, the most obvious comparison would be to include the heat pump in the VW.

I’m really considering replacing my Tesla model y performance with this one. It ticks all of boxes that I want in a car ( except I wish it had a little bit more juice)

The GTX with the added packs cost the same as a Polestar 4 Dual motor with Pilot and plus pack. The Polestar is miles better.

@@madsthomsen8006 This car with basically every option is 622k NOK, a Polestar 4 with the same kit is almost 100k NOK more. The GTX Tourer is more comfortable, quieter, has a more roomy interior with superior cargo capacity, has better ergonomics and superior driver assistant tech. The Polestar 4 is very good, but this it better.

@@madsthomsen8006 For me it’s the opposite. A fully loaded ID7 GTX is around 7k€ cheaper than a base Polestar 4. Comparing a P4 LRSM with Pilot with ID7 GTX it’s 10k€.

Love the snappiness of the infotainment, love the size of the screen, hate that they don’t really use it for apps like Netflix. Big miss!
