Weapon balance have no place in a hardcore shooter.

+Kamel. +Kamel. Weapon balance and game balance are not the same things. However although they both contribute to the overall enjoyment or the game. If either of the two is not regulated correctly, the game will die quickly. If everyone knows a 50 cal sniper rifle is the best way to get a great k/d and that high k/d results in more XP which levels your character faster for even better weapons/gear... yadda yadda the game will be boring. There needs to be a reason to use an M16 with an M203 grenade launcher or an M240 / M249 or AK or be a medic. So although I agree all weapons should not be equal "aka balanced" the effect of those weapons need to be balanced into the game and how people play the game. Just my two sense (yes I know how to spell cents).

+Kamel. I don't think its that simple. Once again let me state I enjoy \ prefer realistic weapons. That said those weapons (practical as they are) must equate to fun gameplay. For example, You can design realistic tactical nukes but how will those nukes effect gameplay? Who is going to play a game where at any moment someone can launch a mortar based tactical nuclear strike on your area of operations (AO)? In my opinion, that game would not be fun for people on the receiving end of that strike. Bottomline, realism does not equal fun or good gameplay.

Andrei Iordache EfT will have damage zones - arms, legs, etc. so vests don't need any balance if they'll be realistic. decked AK will give you better aim with optics, simple, no need for balance. o/c there will be super effective weapons, like machineguns. but they can be balanced on the level of game mechanics - they will be heavy and hard to handle. but guns themselves don't need any balance.

Tarkov is beautiful as it is, I mean, yes the scavs often end up being terminators after each patch is released but that tends to be fixed quickly But I would rather get domed by a Mosin than have weapon damage balance, maybe cost balancing but not weapon/ammo balancing

5- moral system, if you kill anyone from your own faction your moral goes down, kill an enemy and it goes up, then traders and shit have a specific attitude towards you depending on your moral. I think that will fix the issue.

@@squizzard101 There's a lot of factors that goes into it though. Scraping the head isn't really going to do that much. At most it might knock someone unconscious. If they have a helmet on, there's the type of helmet that matters (Materiel), the caliber you are using, the type of ammo you are using for said caliber, and where you shoot them. Shooting someone in the groin area or even neck could quickly kill someone as well. By the way, you have two major arteries that are by your groin that if shot, you could bleed to death very quickly. You can also check someone's pulse down there too. But people usually just use the wrist, and if we can't feel it there we go for the artery in the neck. Cause if we can't feel it on the wrist, its an already we need to get you to the hospital for surgery or you'll die.

After going back to this video after years and after about a year of playing the game, I'm happy to see that these concerns are still just could's rather than are's. Especially the pre-order bonuses bit, there was a reason to buy the more expensive bundles ( namely greater inventory space) but recently they've added a way to get those same upgrades through in-game progress. There are player statistics such as K/D but it isn't that much of an issue since A. It's not a public stat that you could show off by looking at someone's profile B. Survival rate is a more treasured statistic as it is directly related to how good you are at LIVING and ESCAPING rather than how many people you killed before you died. Camping can occasionally be an issue but it's more due to player fear and nerves rather than trying to "save". Anti-cheat has recently become an issue with EFT's recent boom and the most lucrative maps are rarely ever played by most players/streamers because it is basically throwing away your gear. BattlEye is integrated in the game but cheating is mostly used for Real-Money-Trading so they use cheats to get items, sell them to people who are willing to pay IRL money for them, if they get banned, they just buy another copy with another account. But again recently, BattleState has been cracking down on RMT traders and cheaters a lot more than before so they are working on the issue, though it is still a problem, for now at least. The Friendly-Fire issue is always a possibility but most players choose not to group with randoms to avoid this issue. Mostly players just play with those that they've either played with before or with reputable groups or Sherpas. Skills are not necessarily an issue as most skills' bonuses aren't that great. There are standouts like "Strength" or "Endurance" but both are often leveled up by playing normally, especially "Endurance". There aren't skill points, but they just level up as you use them, there is no manual skill allocation. Sorry about the massive amount of text, I'm just invested in the game and it's just satisfying to see that most of these potential issues haven't been expressed, at least to my knowledge. I'd suggest to check it out but it is pretty hard to get into since there is a massive learning curve with the maps, player movement, spawns, currency, and weapons.

The insurance is there so that there is steady player progression for the RPG elements versus dying and losing everything and having to start over if you die. Personally I hate loosing all my stuff in games like DayZ when I've spent 9-10 hours looking for my stuff, so getting a small return even if you lose all your stuff sounds pretty good to me.

Its those who appreciate firearms who can teach others not to fear them! Its just like when people say "Weapon" instead of "Firearm". Anything can be a weapon. you have to use it as a weapon. The gun I have sitting right beside me is not a weapon as its never been used for anything harmful, Otherwise its nothing more than a tool, object, thing etc. Thats always what I tell people :)

Flow is terrible in other games due to them being 3rd person and wall banging. When you play Hardcore First Person modes in survival games it becomes more intense, and when you expose your self to Cut Lanes down you are showing your self too unless you camp in a tunnel lol. but timing is key too. Smokes and mis direction items should help too.

Well for the friendly fire for example they can do something like that: If you kill your own faction member/raid teammate etc. you get a bounty on you which a player gets if he kills you - the more you kill your own faction or teammates the more bounty you get put on you.

Balance is only a problem when it takes more than 2-3 bullets to kill an enemy, look at Arma 3, pretty much every gun kills you with 2-3 shots unless it's a 9mm and you have armor, and guess what, no one talks about unbalance or balance cause it simply makes no difference when the difference is 1 single bullet. Although in games like the division where it takes an entire magazine (or more) to kill someone, balance is a huge deal cause you can be standing behind an enemy, start spraying your gun at him, and if his gun is powerful enough he will turn around and kill you before you kill him, which is dumb as shit. So, as long as they keep guns realistic and you die within 2 shots of a 5.45mm or over, you'll never hear the word balance.

Currently there are no teams. They want to add it... sometime... I don't know when... But right now the most for Teams is you can group up with some friends and you'll spawn together. Otherwise there is not team. There is the friendly wiggle if someone means no harm. Which has been pretty accurate with my gameplay. (As in nobody that did the friendly wiggle has shot me)

I take it that this games is MMO. If so I'll pass I been looking for a game that has this level of detail and game mechanics for some time. However not interested in a game that is simply MMO. If i can play it by myself with only NPC to deal with that would be great. I enjoyed the stalker games because it was a single player along with a good story.

I hope they use a free market system for this game, don't manage the economy- if there is a limited number of items then that will solve the problem of super cheap heavy weapons and things, then players will be forced to survive and trade and use their wits and it will become so rewarding if a player finds a high end item

TL;DR: micro-transactions would be suicide; insurance could be based on items and time-based; really good gear will probably be incredibly rare and your backpack limits you; economy could be exchange based, that'd limit inflation; stats and griefing would be irrelevant in a survival persistent mmo - if you die, you lose equipment and leveling progress - by not being a team player, you mostly harm yourself; no greedy evil publisher means focus on the game, not shenanigans like MT, DLC. hmm... micro transactions would make no sense in a survival game. Where's the survival aspect if you can just buy yourself the meanest armor and gun in the game? Even cosmetic stuff would ruin the immersion: I mean, imagine you're fighting for survival and suddenly a guy with silly glasses and a weird hat appears. WTF? I don't believe (or at least I hope) they'd do such a mistake, they seem serious about this game. I agree (I don't know either, but it sounds plausible) that you pay insurance according to the stuff you own, the more expensive stuff you have, the higher the insurance money; and it probably has a time limit attached to it, after which you'd need to get insured again. On the balance side, I think they're going for STALKER levels of realism, as in it's mostly a matter of aiming and getting tactical advantage: a guy armed with a pistol could drop a guy armed with an AK-74 in close quarters, but obviously a guy with a weapon scope would have the advantage in a long ranged fight because he can aim better. Also, as STALKER, I believe stuff will be hard to find, and you'll be limited by the inventory. I don't think you'll be walking around like a tank, grenades probably will take inventory space, you won't be able to carry a dozen with you, probably only a couple... I hoped for the economy they had done something like in This War of Mine, where money is worthless, you exchange the gear that you have for gear that you need. So if you're wounded and you don't have a med pack, you'd go to a dealer or a friendly player and exchange maybe a grenade or canned meat for it. And in case an item becomes rare, it'd become much more valuable, but as more players would seek and exchange this item, it'd become common again... Given there's a limited amount of stuff you can have, as opposed to the infinite amount of money you can have, that'd keep inflation in check. Plus, despite the danger you'd have to go out and loot stuff, otherwise you'd starve to death or dehydrate. I don't believe stats will matter too much in the game, as these are not matches that you can win or lose, it's a survival game in a persistent world. In this instance, K/D doesn't mean much - only survival is important. You run towards the enemy alone, even if you kill 5-6 of them, if you die it sets you back. You lose equipment and maybe even progress (the developer diary they released hinted at something like that: you can improve your skills and that would impact reloading animation, for instance) You don't have much of a choice in here, you either work with your teammates towards an objective, or you die. If someone shoots their own teammates or faction on purpose, they'd be marked and soon would have a tough job surviving. Plus no big publisher behind it saying "Look! MT are IN now, we need it, we'd make tons of cash. Oh, and we need preorder bonuses, at least a day-one DLC and release a mobile side game to make even more money! Get to it, stat and don't worry, what's not ready at release time will just become story DLC!".

I personally think insurance will be a good feature, when you buy it you should be very careful and get much equipment so if you die the insurance isn't wasted. But if you didn't get it but just found some awesome equipment, people might be camping near the area of that NPC who gives insurance, so it's your fault you didn't make it earlier and might lose everything whether you die anywhere or on your way to buy insurance.

I think there should be some sort of penalty for killing members of your faction. Like for example, if you kill your own member without anyone seeing, you don't get a penalty. But if another player of your faction witnesses you killing them, then you get karma points or humanity points deducted. If they were to add some sort of a karma based point system into the game I think it would help with the mindless team killing that this game may have. They could add some type of "Untrustworthy marker" to you when you run around, letting other members of your faction know that you are known to be hostile towards friendlies. Sort of something like in The Division.

I think the best way to handle the "Mah Kay-Dee" problem is to instead of presenting a K/D score, make kills (among other actions) provide points towards your total score. Ala Planet Side 2. (If there is even a score system. Is one really needed because I think not. If you die you die, if you kill then you kill. Why keep any count, just let actions/objectives be completed for the sake of being completed or simply for resources in-game. Mah 2centz.

Another issue that really kill a game like this is server stability and over all glitch and crashes. In a game where if you lose every thing you were carrying die, or possibly lose connection to the server/logout. Getting kicked from a match, being stuck in a wall to the point all you can do is relog etc would make such things far more annoying than normal games. Being 100% on top of bugs is truly going to be an issue to me. It's one thing to die because another guy is a bit faster, smarter or just plain lucky. It's another to get shot threw the floor because of a texture failed to render and they got free x-ray vision.

On the topic of camper-centric level design, I don't think that will be a problem. After all, you kill players for A, self defense, or B, loot. If it's a "realistic" survival game, there likely won't be any rewards of xp or cash just for getting kills, so sitting in one spot and taking pot shots will serve absolutely no purpose, and eventually starve out the campers. Another remedy to this potential problem is balancing server population with the map size. The occasional sniper, or even team of snipers, holed up in an apartment or holding up a city block, would still be a player-driven obstacle that others can still circumvent or overcome somehow.

+Orlando Red Actually, the quality tends to pay at the end, you can go with awful content and get subs, but at some point they will stop watching your videos, having good content will give you quality subscribers, the ones who really watch your videos (which is better if what you look is monetization) even more, good youtubers even have patreon accounts and I know that they make good revenue that way as well.

The weapon modding in the game looks *awesome*. Rerendered scopes and sights look *awesome*. Hope they don't screw it up. Hahaha! 5.45x39 California... I got it! Stupid magazine capacity restrictions over there. Wish I could own guns here in Norway. I've actually been looking into getting one of the only AK variant rifles we can legally get here in Norway, which is the Finnish Valmet M76. Not sure if it's only the hunting version or not, but I want the "military" one. I'll go for whatever character build/gear I want - just like I do in DayZ. Sometimes I pick up an AKM, sometimes I pick up a Winchester. Awesome video by the way. You really pointed out some stuff I'll watch out for.

they should put a reputation based system which monitors how frequently someone kills people within their faction BUT there should also be a way of getting away with screwing over your team at a considerable effort. Maybe the only way to get away with killing your faction without tarnishing your reputation would be if you could make sure nobody else saw you do it, except the person who is killed. There are a bunch of creative ways in which players can deceive each other, and inversely, many creative ways in which players can guarantee each others trust. Maybe encourage players to make it such that it is in everyone's incentive that every player returns alive and well by having all players leaving x amount of money at home, and the amount of your own money that is returned to you may depend on how many of your friends return home. I think the friendly fire problem is an intriguing game theoretical challenge with lots of potential!

Actually the unbalance due to the realism isn't going to be too bad of a thing. When things are imbalanced and realistic, especially weapon physics, is going to take actual skill to play.

One thing that I also think you should have added to that list is performance and optimization. There are too many MMO survival type shooters that have terrible optimization. Due to how much there is to this game and how great the graphics look, I fear that this game could either be too demanding or fail to perform well on average computer systems. I for one will no longer be interested in this game if it has terrible performance.

For the friendly fire issue, there's a relatively easy fix. Well two, really. First, allow people to block someone from being matched with them in the future (and let them select the reason why). The game would need to verify that actually happened in the previous/present match. Secondly, allow people to auto-block someone based on their current history. For example: Block anyone who has been blocked for killing multiple team members more than X times. Tolls will get very lonely.

A solution for the problem of players gravitating towards certain classes, to a point where they become too common; just boost the incentives for the other classes. Boost the returns on scavenging/looting on the least popular classes, expand the size of their inventory, invoke discriminatory pricing on the marketplace whereby the least popular classes receive subsidies or "credits" to put towards new gear. Eventually, if the incentives are strong enough, you're going to see the distribution between classes equilibriate. Ideally. You can have people patching the game and make sure it stays balanced.

the could implement a faction lvl system and use that to match players in "the zone" example, tier 1 is the new player, tier 0 is the troll who shoot the another guys in the back, tier 2-3 are players with a good lvl, equipment and respect points (completing more quests) tier 4-5 are the top players, having some advantages but you need to play by the rules of your faction, isn't about K/D ratio but Quests or missions you complete, you could go in hard missions (out numbered or even with a hard objective) to improve your respect to the faction, giving some bonuses with the traders and another npcs... The server could match the players for the same faction using the tier having a kind of balance, so you who just started to play today will not fight with your makarov and Adidas against a squad with +1000 hours using lvl 3 body armor, night-vision and AKs with all the possible mods and a drink holder...

I like 545 too lol I was cleaning my Arsenal SLR104FR while listening to you talking! Good video! Do you have any recommended ways to load the 545 mags..? I couldn't get it to work with stripper clips.. And there are no companies that know of making 545 speed loader.. And the 545 long bullet caught the magazine ever single time.. It's a pain to load it..

love this video and this game from what I've seen so far. can you make a video on something that nobody seems to care about, which is the realism of the optics? I've been waiting years for something like this to come out and this game nailed it! also, love the green reticle on the EOTech, never seen that in a game before. the eye relief on the zoom optics is outstanding!!! if there is a sniper class and big maps in the final release, it's gonna be so beautiful!!!! hopefully nobody will be going CQB with a bolt action sniper or DMR, that'll ruin it. I'd love to see how the Colt AR type rifles explode or dont fire at all after being submerged in water and having the advantages of the HK 416, M27, 417 and other HK rifles being able to do so.

Chris Aderson The high risk/high reward concept of a CQB bolt action rifle isn't something that's done in real life, but in a game things are completely different. Either way, a game that strives to be realistic has no authenticity based reason to restrict this from being a thing.

Hey Rags, good video but I had a few gripes with it. You really went off on the whole kd thing in battlefield. I understand being mad at your team for being stupid but the problem is bf is not really a competive game to begin with. I think if your not really hurting your teammates (being toxic, tking,) in a game with no ranking system and your just playing for fun you should be able to play however you want. Whatever is fun for you. You should be able to do, and if thats camp or get a sick kd then thats their problem. I get it if its a game about ranking up or getting better that is a clearly competive game with a clear mode then you should play the objective and try your best to win like in Dota, CS, LoL, ect. Also I kind of doubt that eft will go the stats route. But overall good video and looking forward to more of your content.

When I heard about RPG skills, my heart sank. I screamed 'no, no, no!' at my screen... It's a great way to fuck up a great game. I *loathe* the idea that a player with a bigger number next to his name can potentially beat me simply *because* of that number. Oh well done, you've got 5 levels in your aiming skill and 4 in your recoil control skill. You can pull off consecutive headshots on me and my chums, while I look like I am stirring porridge in the air and having a micro-seizure everytime I squeeze the trigger on my rifle. [slow clap] Also, this kinda ties into what you were saying about KDR. If people are worried of dying because they'll lose their glorious *totally-not-balanced* character, who is to guarantee they'll help their team instead of, y'know, quivering under a staircase and waiting for the gunshots and screams to stop echoing through the corridors. Maybe they'll wait for the final shots to be fired, with as few enemies alive as possible, so at least they can polish off the rest of the enemy team with the safe knowledge that there's not many of them left and you know more or less exactly where they are. Great, right? 3:0 KDR, you didn't lose your char, hell you didn't even get shot! ...well, say that to the dead bodies you walked into the mission with.

That's not how it works. That just means you can hold your weapon steadier the more you use it. You still have to actually aim well, it's not auto aim. I think it will be more like becoming more experienced the more you do things, like with aiming and recoil control. It would make it more realistic depending on how the do it.

The economy of the game can be kept in tact if bullets are used are currency(similar to metro). Do I keep the ammo for my AK or sell along side the rifle for that SVD with which I will great at longer ranges, have less ammo and be handicapped at CQC.

I hope they do insurance in similar ways that they did in Eve Online. In Eve, if you have a insured ship and you lose it, you get some of your money that you put into the ship back, but not all of it. It allows players to take a few risks with more expensive ships and have a guarantee of getting X amount back if they die.

Okay okay the more realistic a game is the more OP a weapon becomes? You see that's actually were you are wrong. That levels the playing field for every one, just because you give someone a Bushmaster M4, with rails systems slap on a thermal scope and a fore grip. Well guess what you made a pretty boss platform, but what's funny is. That Markrov on your hip can still kill this guy with one bullet to the back of his head. It's realistic that's the point, the nicer your stuff the more paranoid you have to be because someone who is lower then you is going to use your face at your weakest moment to make themselves higher. That's the balance, the true balance of a realistic game is the skill of the player. Gear does help and gives more options but you probably don't play enough of the truly hardcore shooters to get that experience of "How on earth am going to approach this?" and it not be throw grenades at it, shoot it full of holes. where instead you runaway and either lure them into a terrain that levels the playing field or you live to fight another day. Realistic games are not black and white, they are a whole bunch of grey and that's what make them fun. In the end all bullets kill, all guns are lethal and even the best most 'OP' weapon is worthless in the hands of an unskilled soldier.

I agree with you the k/d is something which is worry about. i feel like what you need is good friends if you want to have like a team working together otherwise you aren't actually gonna work together. i dont play much cod these days. Now this game has a leveling system but i feel thats gonna ruin it do you know why? because everytime i go into a lobby with someone with high ranks and shit they will immediately leave the smaller ranked players because they think there bad. i hope this isnt this case. You could argue that the AK-74m is almost the same as and AKM. Caliber and parts are different but the gas system and carrier group and essentially the whole gun uses the same "Concept".The the muzzle devices are interchangeable as well concluding why people may think both guns are the same. But good on you for teaching those who are ignorant about these details. Hope fully they add the "real world balancing" of weight. From gear you carry to how heavy your gun is. The more heavy your gun (as I know you are aware) the harder it is to aim quickly. Also with longer barrels a balancing option would be like it knocking into walls and takes longer to look over corners. Balancing for in game economies would ether be easy or hard , one way is to utilize the hard core mechanic and allow corpses to "decompose" Or make ammunition difficult to find. Making an economy based on ammunition or other supplies is realistic and real legal currency is not worth much is rather common in countries invaded or disasters. (Metro=russia=escape from tarkov maybe) Also RPK with a grenade launcher would be cool and hope fully interchangeable magazines if they add RPK's. Final fucking note (this took way too long) when A person shoots his team in any amount in a "realistic" game his team guns him down without hesitation I hope this transfers to escape from tarkov it may not.

+GeneralBaked Potato Ehhhh, you could argue that, but only so far. I have two AK-47s (WASR-10 and a RAS-47) and I have two AK74s (Arsenal SLR 104FR and a CA Bullpup Bulgarian '74 conversion) They do have some parts interchangeability, yes. The handguards, gas tube covers, stocks, grips to name the obvious ones. BUT they do not have the same threadings on the barrel, and cannot use the same muzzle devices without adapters. Shop for AK74 muzzle brakes and your selection is much more limited. Also, obviously...an AK74 brake can't be used on the AKM since the bullet is bigger. They look extremely similar, and most people are fully aware of guns and gun stuff so they assume there's basically no difference. I've shot both...the AK74 is much, much more gentle. And it's lighter, too. Much lighter. I cannot fathom any real reason to choose an AK47 over an AK74 in a Tarkov-esque scenario. RPK-74s do use AK74 magazines, also. Those are interchangeable. Also, AR15s in 5.45 (I have one, it's amazing, everybody should have one) can use standard 5.56 magazines so long as you only load them to about 25 or so rounds full.

Rags I have limited experience with ak-74's in handling but I have more experience with AKM's. But in can understand the lighter ammunition and gun weight but power in penetration and overall damage can be the equalizer for both weapons, Both rifles are being produced and used. But arguably f you want the MOST damage in speed and cartridge penetration (hope fully) in this game PKP would be the dominator but impractical at the same time. More likely a PSL or SVD would be more piratical. Although hopefully they do use weight as a factor in this game. (Also nice AK-47's, I hope fully will get a zastava m70)

GeneralBaked Potato There's really no reason to use a 7.63x39 over a 5.45x39. If you want to equalize the guns in a game, you're going to have to be overly generous to the 47 or bring down the 74.

Rags I believe there is another way. Say if they use a bleeding system the 5.45x39 may cause more bleeding, in addition to light weight. While the 7.62x39 may have more penetration on cover (speculation) or in sheer damage, but it is heavy and not suited to longer engagement distances. Both cartridges have their merits and I believe that it should be reflected in the game. Less recoil more damage ,lighter ,better long range capabilities, and more. It is also possible in the game to have more than one ammunition type then FMJ or boat tailed (pure speculation) like maybe ap or hollow points this would make some civilian guns hold up better to military weapons. Or maybe it does not matter and the difference is power and accuracy.But of course this is speculation from my part.

The only permanent bonus u have from Preorder are the Standings with the Shops and the Pouchslot Item who is up to 9 slots "edge of darkness edition" who is a savekeeper in games, who u can save stuff in it even in Pvp but im shure they enable u are able to loot some of this containers later in the games raids

I hate when people complain about pre-order bonuses. Like if you are so concerned about them having an advantage over you, then pre-order the game as well! Problem Solved. And for people who kill their team, so what, its pvp survival. That shit happens all the time in DayZ and The Division. If people are going to cry about someone who teamkilled, then play a game that has it disabled and stay away from hardcore survival games.

The only way I can see the faction friendly fire thing ending in any way like it should, is for a faction to blacklist the player. As in, that player is labeled as a Tker by other members of the faction. It could work where after you get a specific number of reports from players who weren't Tk'd by the traiter (IE: witnessed the deliberate killing and survived), the faction would excommunicate said Tker. The reason you shouldn't be able to report the player after you died is to prevent rage reporting and things of that nature. Obviously, what I just described is nowhere near perfect, or even really that good, but that's as good as I can think of to solve the TK problem in a realistic and immersive way.

"Dress up" is not really the right words to say or to compare this to a kids game. Kitting out a weapon properly does help in certain situations. It just make the difference in winning a gun fight or getting killed.

About the Microtransactions. I believe its a possibility. Lets take a look at Payday 2, a game released in 2013. This game is a 4 Player Co-Op shooter, based around robbing different places either through stealth or going loud. Several years ago Overkill, the developers of this game, claimed that they would NEVER add Microtransactions. But then, in 2015, they add paid safes. These safes are a lot like CSGO cases, with skins of different raritys. These safes need drills to open up. Now, you would think that's be fine, but these skins can have boosts that effectively male your weapons better. See? It can happen.

Things like paying one time fee to have more dollars to start a fresh reset could be an alright microtransaction. Or start the game every reset with a particular gun and ammo. I'm talking under 5 bucks. Or buy larger storage or larger inventory to hide more stuff encase you die. Say a 16 square box. For those of us with less time and skill. To build your base faster.

You should link this video to the developers. You analyzed the most important points that are critical to success very well and I agree with 100% with everything you said. I would spend over a hundo on the game if it turns out how you feel it should be, and I think that bringing up these opinions would give a good reminder to the devs, regardless of if they are on the right track. If the devs listen to you, this may well be a once in a decade kind of game. I REALLY hope that I can call this game my favorite because it is SOOOOO promising.

So I'm just now to the point about stat tracking and I have to agree to an extent, KD, Score stuff like that should not be what your stats focus on, especially in the way that I understand Escape from Tarkov is supposed to be played. Instead, if we're going to be buying, selling, and trading guns, and trying to survive, kills and scores and things like that shouldn't matter, instead, things like survival times, and overall networth should be what we base our stats on, Player with a high Networth in loot, clearly knows where loot spawns, and how to get it and disappear before the first shots are even fired. Players with high survival times are clearly the guys that understand the economy, know how to scavenge, and now how to negotiate a potentially hostile situation, in a survival game like this, those should be the trackable stats that matter.

Most of your fears are already answered by the devs or just simply things that cannot be known like "map". You are right nobody should preorder, however I will buy the edge of darkness edition. Not too many good title in this genre, and I am ready to take the risk. There will be 2 anti cheat, one is in house programmed. There will be penalties if you teamkill, that is why it is not recommended... and so on... This is a really one sided video, but good for you mate, you probably will play it in beta, if not in alpha as well:D

I hope its a open world constant game,not like levels,i mean like surviving in example minecraft surviving not like a round of minecraft hunger games round. i think what skills do you use will depend ob your equipment,what do you want to use in a battle. i hope there will be faction/clan claims (houses claimed by factions) and that you could design the claims a little (repairing doors,blockades,setting lights,blocking rooms etc..) i also hope to see some places where everyone gathers,where everyone can shoot each other but there are some laws or something. I hope that the requirements are not suoer high like modern games,so everyone can play. And i hope pirate versions have well populated servers (not everyone can spend 60$ on a game)

We must just wait and see how the game will be as soon as the Beta is open to those who signed up (me included). It's good that they allow us to test it. I know for a fact that a few things that you pointed out in the video will most likely occur in the Closed-Beta, because no game (including this one) will be perfect. Thats why we as beta testers must help the Devs in improving the game for it's final release.

Just my opinions/ideas that came up while watching this vid. Level design should be realistic. Camping in a big ass map is not fun as many may know by playing DayZ, Arma etc. btw I got a great idea: Stats show only your deaths. Not kills. This could immerse people by trying their best not to die. Also having a name for your character(randomly generated by the game) could make people not want to die. Teamkilling is great I love it. This game is a survival game and you should not be encouraged to trust someone based on their uniform.

The biggest advantage people who have alpha and beta have is not the extra equipment at the start. I think it be that they will have been playing the game for the last month or two. Or how ever long the alpha and beta is. If you take two average players with the same skill. You then let one play the game for two months and then put him up against the other player. What you think is going to happen most the time. The person who know the game better will win most the time. The extra equipment will help. But a better scope is not going to help you if you walk around a corner and have a guy right in front of you.

You make great points in this vid mate. Kinda makes me think of a young TotalBiscuit. Im really looking forward to this game as a fan of Dayz and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. I hope the devs have looked at other projects and taken lessons from things like Dayz's early access and H1Z1's pay to win debacle, and even things like Diablo 3's server issues at its release. The concept is fantastic and done well it could be a revolution in survival games

Great Vid and thoughts on it Rags, you went alot deeper than i have in my thinking on it after seeing this for the first time, but we have some of the same concerns... either way, i'm really looking forward to this ;) good stuff

They should have a casual and hardcore mode where the only difference is team killing, health regeneration and thins like that maybe even odds of things spawning, they could also make it so that if you get team killed you only get default stuff.
