Good Job Jay!, Really. I'm 52, I am overweight "currently", I'm an old school Rocker/musician, I used to be a "Natural" bodybuilder throughout the 80's & 90's, alot of times I was up to 300+ lbs or hovering around 250lbs., I'm 5'11"- 6', I stopped the heavy lifting, creatine loading, and junk food. Still battling weekly Whiskey drinking, with protégé/friends like the Abbott Bros from the band Pantera, and other Rockers and cowboys I've been around, it kinda molds a character, especially when writing songs. I'm working on it. Done keto 4 yrs back after a double hip surgery, went from 283lbs, down to 208 in only 3 1/2 mos, doctor said I didn't need blood pressure pills nomore "at that time", now I have battled Depression & Anxiety for years and am doing the Keto diet again as I text this. Problem is, maybe you can help or the doctor on this video, how do you know how much to actually "workout" while on the Keto diet?. I honestly haven't worked out in a gym like I used to, for over a year and a half, I'm 60% weaker, I feel fatigued easily. I work in a warehouse moving daily m-f, I get up at 3:45am and work til' 3pm usually, sometimes longer. I've been prepping vegetables w/chicken or salmon, I DO have a banana in the morning and a C4 energy drink w/no sugar, lunches are salmon in a salad usually or scrambled eggs w/spinach and avocados all week, except my "reward day" where I eat some oatmeal and blueberries "on that one day", maybe even have a michelob lite beer or 3 at the most. Any help, advice or suggestions you can give..would be extremely helpful and of high Thankfulness. Keep Rockin' it! Truly ~ Little Whiskey 🤘🏻👽

Your videos are so very helpful, I lost nearly 30 pounds in two months following your diet advice. I'm maintaining around 162# fairly easily. (I was down to 156#, but that was on a "Noro virus" diet for a week.) I actually was able to fit into my 1987 BDU uniform from when I was in the Army back then. It was tight around the waist and chest, but I could still button it. Strangely, the sleeves were a bit short. A lifetime of pushups, and my chest and shoulders are broader now. (We used to ask the question back then: "Do you want a medal, or a chest to pin it on?") I don't know anyone who can even begin to fasten their uniform from 35 years ago. Edit: I'm 5'11".

Hi Dr. Berg! Thank you so much for the videos you put out here for us! I was diagnosed with mitral valve disease-congenital and I’ve been having symptoms just catching up to me at my age @48 I have high blood pressure and am taking medication I have been researching this so much I found your video I had to comment and say thank you and if you ever had any other informative videos on my issue? I have high cholesterol and taking pills for that and I’ll be going for a physical at the surgeons request before we go forward with the operation to repair my mitral valve. I am wondering about low blood volume as well be I’m anemic and take iron pills with vitamin c what are safe vitamins to take in my situation. I will be asking the doctor as many questions as I can write down that I haven’t asked dr Google about LOL! Take care Dr! Thank you for all you do!

Thank you, Dr. Berg. This is the loudest wake-up call I've ever had. I wish I could watch your live shows and ask questions, but they happen typically when I'm at work, and the one time I was home when it came on, I couldn't get on...it kept saying there was an error. Do you by chance record your live broadcasts so they can be gone back to and listened to? Like all of your super helpful videos? Please tell me yes.

I’m someone that unfortunately suffers from heart disease since 2012. The unexpected condition of meningitis combined with endocarditis from the high fever of meningitis left me with a pacemaker, a patch to fill in the hole in my heart and mechanical valve. All from catching meningitis. I’ve just completed me third angiogram and the doc says everything seems fine and clear but he recommended I take Lipitor. Now if the test was clear, why would I take this medication ? Right ? Considering all the side effects as well. I made the decision not to and to stick to a fruit abs vegetable diet instead. Also, to follow any good recommendations that the good Dr. Berg has . Any other suggestions ?

I lost 150lbs on Keto, but I just got diagnosed with endocarditis in my Aortic Valve. I also have regurgitating Mitral & Tricuspid valves. I’m experiencing low diastolic blood pressure - in the 40’s. I don’t have many symptoms yet, except fatigue. I’ve been sleeping 10-11 hours lately. I’m having heart catheterization performed on Monday the 14th to explore how bad my valves are. I have no idea how I got endocarditis. This is so frustrating.

Test your macros yourself to see if a high fat keto diet is for you. I started keto and my total cholesterol shot up to 400 and my ldl to 300 even after losing 35lbs from 210lbs to 175lbs. Going to adjust the macros to a low fat moderate carb/moderate protein diet with insoluble fiber and cut out all the added oils. I suspect the flip will cause my levels plumet back down to where they need to be. There are multiple doctors on KZbin pushing the keto diet and just to be clear they are by no means incorrect. I learned that it is impossible for one diet to be correct for the whole entire population as every person is different and reacts to foods differently. That being said I definitely respect the info on this channel and have learned a great deal from Dr. Berg!

Hey doc, so I have heard of 'reverse epidemiology' and/or the obesity paradox. I have also read numerous blogs over the years where people complain that their mom or grand mom don't want to take their BP medication and they are in their 90s. Question : How can we know that a somewhat elevated BP can be life saving as opposed to being detrimental?

Not to disparage the NHS but I am getting frustrated whenever I go to the Doctor to complain about sharp pain in chest, tingling down my left arm and am told its nothing. Like how are we meant to effectively prevent these health conditions if Drs won't take blood tests, check cholesterol on the fly? You gotta be pretty bad before they even consider checking and even then they only offer antibiotics. I'm def gonna have to start keto or something as I put on 10k during pandemic and I feel like a huge slob. Def not happy with the way I am now.

Yeah... that is pretty standard for doctors across the board. Most just aren't trained. Spend some extra cash and go to a private physician or just lie and fake more severe symptoms. It is different in America. If you have insurance, the annual physical covers all of your labs. also, in most states we can buy our own labs for pretty much whatever. You have to be your own advocate. That being said, keto and IF will knock every thing out! Just start.

Great info. Dr. Berg! yesterday went to a doc appointment w' a friend stayed in vehicle. Sadly they got bad news. I had told the (male) to ask 2 months prior, why they had coughed daily. They went to an After Hours Clinic, and were tested re: high blood pressure and urine. The blood pressure was up over 200, and apparently they had a slight tinge of blood in urine for a period of time. Which he never mentioned to anyone. This person is (not) elderly, and is a heavy pot smoker, as it is legal in our state. I did read online that they did have a "recall" not too long ago regarding "moldy ..... " pot/weed. Sad they never should have legalized it, as it led to higher crime rates in numerous areas within our state. My friend has been informed by heart doc "heart failure." However, believe they were told that 10 years ago. The heart doc has been telling the individual (maybe twice a year) keeping an eye on the clogged artery, guess it's actually bottom chamber of the heart artery. The individual already has 9 heart stents, last install 2016 smokes a pack of cigars (look like cigarettes) per day, apparently doc wanted to "wait" until artery was @ least 70% clogged. The individual has probably had Covid19 several times since 2019 should have listened to others, and been tested re: Covid 19 testing ..... they have PAD and their feet are cold all the time. Which they feel actually dates back to the 80's. As a teen apparently he didn't have hair on calves? Just recently he "did not feel the cold of the blacktop" talking to his neighbor friend, w' no socks on in winter ... no snow on ground ..... craziness. *Sad to see people being deceived for lack of a better term by the devil, just the other day my neighbor stood there eating french fries out of his coat pocket. He has sadly gained pretty much all his weight back, all of 40-50lbs from eating from his favorite fast food restaurant .... personally don't think it's wise re: diabetic eating fast food daily. *However, God grants us 'Free Will.' Fast food can clog arteries ..... guess he spends "140.00 per week on fast food" sounds like a bit much. However, one must consider the possibility of up to (3)fast food meals per day for anyone? Recently thought I saw my neighbor driving behind me, looked in the rearview mirror (adjusted the mirror) and boom ran straight into a 3 foot high snow pile! got my new typewriter yesterday writing a book. *Stress is affecting my health realize "Keto Diet" would help me. *not a medical opinion
