As we take a break from our regular coverage of Star Citizen, I wanted to dive into 6 of my most highly anticipated games coming in 2024 and 2025!

I’ve backed SC since early 2013. Master modes and .23 has been first time I’ve felt it’s going in a bad direction.

@BGIANAKy I believe master modes is the right direction, but it needs a ton of work before it can truly be a good system. Every flight model change previously was met with a lot of resistance and was pretty terrible initially. I remember when they fundamentally changed the flight model the first time around 2.6 or so and everyone was unhappy. I was especially unhappy. Same with the major changes in 0.9. But everything eventually got better with time.

@@Hav0k how is master modes in the right direction? To what? A console release? It feels awful. Cruise mode was a better alternative back in the day lol

@BGIANAKy because it no longer allows for tri-cording which creates an artificial advantage. And truthfully the separation of SCM vs Nav mode really hasn't made things more difficult because of how quickly you can switch between the modes.

@@Hav0k tricording could have been fixed many other ways. And btw, the way the game was pitched in 2013 on the “flight model and input controls” article by CR which is still on the RSI website, look it up. It literally says how he wants combining a thruster axis for faster turning, etc. The game is becoming arcade like. It’s sad. It feels like everspace 2 which is a great game but it was sold to me as an arcade game.

As always, a great video Hav0k! Definitely looking forward to Sqd 42! I just wish they'd get their SC act together....I'm certainly no game designer and haven't got a clue about the complex nature of it but it seems to me they should be getting the Live version up to snuff prior to releasing other versions. It's SO annoying ghosting through the elevator in your ship (or elsewhere) or working on a contract only to find after much time and toil that the mission is bugged and can't be completed. Maybe 3.24 will placate me in the interim but I'm not holding my breath. AKA CotyarGhazi "CG"

So excited for Mass Effect! I've been re-doing Andromeda for the past month. Oddly, the thing I like the least about Mass Effect is having to make choices......

I've already started a rigorous physical training regime for Space Marine 2. Cardio, weights mixed with some boxing and martial arts to really ensure peak aggression! With an all red-meat diet of animals I kill myself and steadfast prayer to the Emperor, beloved by all, I'm going to be as prepared as I possibly can be for maximum righteous fury come September. I can't wait to a) find out what happened to Titus after all these years B) experiment with all the classes, perks and weapons & C) bathe in 'Nid blood. (and don't even get me started on how bad I'm gonna wreck those TS marines). Remember friends, "He who allows the alien to live shares in the crime of its existence". I'm also keeping my fingers crossed for some surprises - I'll fall out of my chair if Roboute makes a cameo and I'll eat my keyboard if the Lion shows up. Hey Hav0k, what class do you think you'll roll with first? I was going to go tactical or bulwark. I'm liking that grapnel gun zip/flying karate kick the Vanguard does, it reminds me of playing Robin back in the Arkham games. I'm also kind of wanting to play Scout, mostly because all the early access KZbinrs say it sucks (that just makes me want to figure out how to win with him). I'm looking forward to seeing how it all plays out, I really enjoyed the original game back in the day. Thanks for the video !

I still have high hopes for ME5 since Casey Hudson returned. But we'll have to see whenever they have an update.

@Hav0k Casey Hudson left Bioware again to form his own studio called Humanoid. It's working on a new sci-fi game that hasn't been shown off yet.

After just seeing the game crash on stage and another delay into 2026, I have no hopes for Star Citizen as a whole. I'm most excited for Exodus being that it's being made by former Bioware talent of Kotor and Mass Effect fame.

Well, I could have been hyped by most of these games, but actually, there's no reason for that by now. - We literally do know nothing about Exodus other than what the cinematic trailer shows and what the devs plan to make. I see some real potential there, but also a real potential to fail. - Space Marine 2 seems to be a real treasure (didn't play it myself yet) - Outlaws unfortunatelly is definitively no treasure (I did play it). - I was hyped for Dune Awakening, even applied for the closed beta, but recently they showed some ingame footage. Man, whoever said Outlaws looks outdated never saw that game. And even though I don't neccessarily need AAA graphics (the bad graphics were not the reason for me to quit Outlaws) the developers decided to get rid of the lore. As a Dune fan that's a nogo for me. - Mass Effect 4/5, see Exodus but less visuals/cinematics. But where did you see the same story in Andromeda and Me1-3? Andromeda's main problem was imo that it just stopped right in the middle of the plot. I literally did not realize the I was in the final battle until it was over 😢 and many aspects like the missing archs were reserved for DLCs we never got. - And finally, Sq404. Do you really believe that it will be released any time soon? It was announced for late 2024. 3 months left. Shouldn't there be some PR by now? I think, most of these games might be really good and I really hope they will. But we got disappointed by the gaming industry lately way too often which prevents me from getting too confident. By the way, the game I'm really looking forward to is Falling Frontier.

I hear what you're saying. I've been hearing a lot of ex-Mass Effect devs have been working on Exodus which is why I'm looking forward to it. Space Marine 2 is definitely great. I enjoyed Star Wars Outlaws. It wasn't amazing but it wasn't terrible. I've had an opportunity to play the closed beta, and it's definitely not downgraded visually in my experience. I think it will be a great alternate story approach. But to each their own. And Mass Effect Andromeda had a similar story design and plot. Obviously not the exact same, but there were a lot of parallels. And yeah the story ending flopped so bad. It was the biggest disappointment I had in a while. And Squadron 42 I believe will be extremely hush hush until after CitizenCon. The issue with them not marketing it or selling it is because they're legally no longer allowed to. The EU kinda took them to court over having a game with no release date and no content to play, which is why they removed it from the store. I think that we could see a lot more about it in a little under a month from now. I'm definitely looking forward to Falling Frontier as well cause it looks like The Expanse combat. And that's a win for me.

I started with the Horus Heresy series. It is essentially the background story to the setting. I get that it can be intimidating; there's a lot of books but if you wanted to start there, "Horus Rising" from author Dan Abnett is the first book. It's as good a place as any to start I think. If you try it, I urge patience. There's a sort of 'lingo' to the 40k universe. It took me a little while to get my head around it but once you get a feel for it, you can really get sucked into the IP, there's a lot to explore. Cheers!
