I remember this trial... I appreciate that it may have been hard for the jury to determine HOW William died; there was enough reasonable doubt, but she STILL left him there, in a field, and told NO ONE, and probably never would have had he not been identified. IMO, that shows consciousness of guilt.

Her defence was she was young and did not had any support. she went to new city for opportunities. But she neglected child care not provided medical care when needed. She never told anyone about the boy after she left him in-the wood. Went on and had one more child from her new partner. Finally someone followed up the case and they arrested her.

I mean legally the state didn’t prove their case….they couldn’t prove she murdered him, I wouldn’t be able to say she did murder him intentionally if I was on the jury but morally as a mother I could not imagine letting my child suffer or not “wake up” without calling for help and just leaving …that certainly seems like murder, morally. Maybe he could have been saved? Maybe not but at least he would have a proper burial. The jury got it right according to the law but I feel like justice for that baby wasn’t served.
