6 Years STRANDED On Desolate Pacific Island

This is Clipperton Island. It is just a small barren ring of coral in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. In the late 19th century, countries fought for ownership of it for a rare resource the island possessed. To stake their own claim, Mexico sent several families to colonize it, and supplies were regularly sent to keep them alive. Horrifyingly, at some point, these crucial supplies stopped coming, and once it was clear they’d been abandoned, one of these inhabitants revealed himself as a true monster. And this didn’t have to do with a lack of food. This is their horrifying story.

This story is horrific.... But that's just what it is, a story. Any books and information on this are laughably inaccurate. All information has been severely altered just like all the wars and our entire world history. Ur just repeating the fake history bullshit the human species has believed for over a century now. Same people write books about moon landing and Christopher Columbus right..... Unfortunately We won't see what HELL this reality is until we die. Even if you read all this in multiple sources. Everything we have been feed for generations is an evil plan that is coming to a violent end.

Don't you realize that real life can be more fascinating than fiction? The story of "The Ghost and the Darkness" about the man-eating lions of Tsavo was cut back in the movie, because the real life story was said to be more unbelievable than any movie. Same thing with the movie "Hacksaw Ridge." The heroics of that medic was so overwhelming. They kept out a lot of his actual deeds because they didn't think the movie audience would believe it.

I loved this video, thank you for making it! In 2007, I was an Air Force pilot deployed in South America flying counternarcotic missions in this area, and I remember seeing this tiny island out in the middle of nowhere. I checked the charts and saw it was "Clipperton" and belonged to...France?!? What was France doing all the way over here with nothing else of theirs for thousands of miles? That began my curiosity with this speck of uninhabited coral. I had no idea the history was so interesting...nor macabre until this video!

What do you mean "the vegetable garden that was tended to by the British died"??!!? These people were stranded there but nobody cared to look after the one reliable source of food they had? Was it beneath them or something?
@shauntempley9757
@shauntempley9757 3 ай бұрын
The British would have had a different diet, and a different way of caring for a vegetable garden than the Mexican families. Because the British come from a country that is basically no warmer than autumn it is a massive difference. It is entirely possible that the Mexican knowledge needs a different soil content to succeed.
@cmdrdisulfiram

@shauntempley9757
@shauntempley9757 3 ай бұрын
That knowledge cannot be exchanged in a tea break. It has to be told, then shown from the very beginning to the end of the process. That cannot be done in one conversation. There also exists the simple fact that Mexican diet and nutrition is not suited to the British diet, and vice versa. Since it was a British vegetable garden, it would have the foods the British needed to be healthy without causing allergic reactions, which at worse can be fatal within moments of eating if you are not aware of it. It is how such food allergies as an allergy to shellfish and peanuts happen, and this is a common British and European allergy. Then you look at such allergies, like those allergic to milk and wheat. A common Maori and Polynesian food allergy. These four allergies have killed thousands of people, some within minutes of eating them, over the last 200 years, most of them on the European outlook in life and death situations like this. The Maori outlook? Simply having your foods replaced without input, as your food sources got destroyed. Some allergies lessen as you eat more. Some allergies get worse as you eat more, and there is no way to tell which way your body will head, and there is no cure for these. @@cmdrdisulfiram

You'd be surprised how few people actually know HOW to garden effectively in such a way that the soil isn't depleted of nutrients, not too much water or too little, etc. It's not as simple as just planting some seeds and sprinkling some water on if you're talking about sustaining a population for years on end with just vegetables - especially on an island like that where very little will grow in the first place. Doing that DOES take know-how. Try it sometime....

One detail is in disagreement with Wikipedia, and that is Ramon Arnaud was not sent as punishment. His 5.5 month prison sentence had been completed, and after being demoted to private he had regained his rank over a period of 3 years, and had served in the Caste War of Yucatan, and then posted to Japan. He apparently declined the first rescue because he thought the supply ships would soon resume, not because he feared punishment by the military.

It looks like they've made a movie about it in Mexico but this definitely has all the horror necessary to inspire a very dark English language film. Like an even creepier version of The Lighthouse but with a final shot of the villain's body being slowly devoured by crabs.

It would be cool to see a video about the lost expedition of Laperouse, the French explorer whose men were stranded on Vanikoro Island in the 1780s, and **almost** rescued more than once. There's not a lot of videos about it, and it's arguably more of a big deal than something like the lost Franklin expedition, which has had way more publicity.

I checked out this story online and it turns out this report is substantially correct. Well done. Well researched. Much of the stuff we see on social media is either overblown, incorrectly reported or outright lies. So it's refreshing to find someone who does their research and tells an interesting story well. If this is clickbait then it's absolutely EXCELLENT, well researched clickbait! Cheers!

Hello! I am brazilian and you should really check the story of the Cesium 137, a radioactive disaster that happened in Goiânia... It started when one humble person found an extremely radioactive leftover ( it was glowing and beautiful) from some throwaway medical equipment and took it home.. gave it to his kids, friends, and then the sickness spread.. It's one of the most tragic incidents in Brazil to this day. Love your channel and would love if you researched about this case! There are movies even but I don't recommend them since they are rlly old. Documentaries about it are plenty and great though!
