@g-manjams3 жыл бұрын
The strength of the military is in your battle buddies. Going into jail, you're alone with potentially violent and unstable people. Breaking the weird etiquette that inmates have, can get you killed. I've seen guys get stabbed for talking about coffee to the wrong person because it somehow violated that etiquette. That would be what scares me the most. Just violating that ridiculous code that inmates have without even realizing and getting jumped, stabbed and/or killed. On top of that, I wouldn't want to develop a friendship with anybody who might inadvertently get me into a situation by proxy. In the military, you're ready to die for your comrades, and you know they're ready to do the same. In jail, you don't have that. I know inmates can become close, but there is a bond that comes with the uniform that other inmates don't have. You have the strength of your unit at your back. That's the difference.

Kinda have to give props to Gerson. Yes, he barely did anything in the show. Yes, he 'chickened out' really early. But you know something? It takes a bigger man to be honest and up front on their feelings, where their mental health is at and how it's going to affect them being in this kind of dangerous situation. He gave it a try, but ultimately he realised that being in this show was going to do him more harm than good. I hope he's living a good life after this.
