I remember one time going to jail, I was tired of being a trustee because you have to work during the day, and I refused to work so the correctional officers told me "you're not going to like where we are going to stick you, I promise you that". I remember the first day walking into my new pod and everyone just started busting out laughing and making all types of jokes. It felt like I was a clown on stage. But shortly after, I made some strong connections and lucked out haha. people even gave me their commissary haha. Any advice to new inmates, just be yourself. There's a lot of dudes that walk through those doors and try to be someone their not. Just be yourself and hope that people see you as a real person.
