Swapping the cab seems like the most sensible option... No messing with drive train angles, rerouting and replumbing fifty miles of lines. PLUS the ease of having off the shelf components, God forbid you find yourself broken down.

I’m doing an extremely similar swap. 66 C10 on top of a 96 Dodge Cummins 3500. My recommendation? Do the c50/c60 swap instead like these folks because that step height at the base of the cab will make up for the different frame mount heights. Mine is coming out way taller and has more frame exposed than I like. I’m looking into if I can add the steps to the cab and change the fender over to make it more like C50/60

Looks good so far . Smart choice on the cab swap . One thing I did on my 1948 Chevy 6400 (same size like yours) is I made the nose flip forward .I open the hood , pull a couple bolts and unplug the electric and the fenders and grill tilt forward . The radiator stays in place . It’s a game changer when you have to work in the engine bay . It was really easy and I don’t have half the resources you have . I was going to use the same front axle you have to 4wd my 81 Dodge Trans-Van camper . I wanted to keep the coil springs . To save on a bunch of fab work I figured out that I could use a couple Ford E-350 radius arms I guess you call them . One mod would be to stretch them a bit then use 2 heim joints to connect them to the axle. Instead of rubber bushings , I’m sure there are polyurethane bushings out there .The bracket that the radius arms bolt into with the 2 bushing sandwich just unbolts from the frame . I think this will you a better ride than the stock short Dodge ones . If you want pics of my forward tilting front end just let me know .

@RenegadeADV9 ай бұрын
I have done a few of these style swaps, the thing on the C60 is that it was designed for the motor to sit further down, when you swap it onto a pickup frame, the frame horns bend up and lift the engine higher. IMHO not the best setup because it creates the space issue that you are now facing, personally I would have stuck with the original frame and swapped everything over to it as then the engine could have sat further down under the cab, the stock ride height could have been retained, and then you have the option of either a 4 link or mounting a 4x4 front axle on the stock leafs, although that will lift it significantly if you do. But that is why you run into the clearance issues with the floor and firewall.
