In today's video I change the gearing on my Polaris 600cc 2 Stroke powered mower and take it for a rip! We had some issues but that's what test drives are for.

I sat and read through all the comments this time. It seems there is a lot of people that probably have never built anything in their entire lives know every thing about yours. It's a very good build, complements from a builder 👍😊

agreed, it is a proper built, just not completely done, gear issues, steering is off, and weak back springs..but for the rest, it seems solid..

You just need to lower the stall of that torque converter so that it grabs in lower rpm's.

@shawnbuckendahl1968

No torque converter per se but the clutching might need a little dialing in. Those engines prefer a high rev though before engagement. Otherwise they tend to bog off the low end.

Once you learn shock tuning the builds will be even better. Ppl often over look shocks cus they simply just don't know anything about them an it can kill a build. You've come a long way man keep going forward. You got this. That build is coming together great. A good solid build doesn't happen over night or quick. It sounds great. Decent throttle response not to lean. A little rich but nothing wrong with that at all. Better safe than sorry, killer job man. 👍👊 Trial an error is the best way an only way to learn.

Your becoming a good builder. I personally would try that engine on a different project, that mower doesn't turn well due to weight being in the rear and that looks dangerous and worry about you getting badly hurt.

I don't know what to say but that thing is still sick. I love the idea. But ultimately it's your time and your build, personally I probably wouldn't give up just yet. Sometimes it takes more trial an error than other times. You built it an you know more about the mechanics so you should be the one to decide if you should continue or not. But yeah it's still pretty wick-ed .

this is a savage next level machine, and I've never been into ANYTHING mower related- even the sport bike swapped builds are a bit useless imo... I mean realistically- what, it might pop some wheelies, maybe do sum berniez? thats like riding a jet ski... after 30 mins you can't do anything new on it and its close to being considered boring simply because of its limitations... a stand up on the other hand.... 👍 👌. but this is clearly a sport machine and looks like it would stab out on a MX track!! who would have ever thought putting those two words in the same sentence would be achievable? (mower + Motocross) I think you have opened a whole new vehicle class, maybe someday there will be mower motocross with sending a Murray over some 20ft tables lmao. I cant even imagine it honestly... lmao. to sum up my banter- I think you just built the trx250r of all mowers... legendary. p.s. I'm sure you obviously were the first to notice, unless I'm mistaken, but your steering was lookin a bit sloppy joe ya kno?

If I were you I would build a shield for the filters or some front fenders to stop mudd dirt and water from being sucked into the pods if not it will wreck that top end or wear the piston rings out really fast. Pods and mud dirt and water don’t mix lol.

Also, I'm sure you already know, but the cheapest way to change the dynamics of your vehicle is to order several different springs and weights for the CVT. The sprocket change is certainly helpful, but I don't think you're operating in the heart of the power curve of the CVT. I don't know if you've ever messed around with golf carts, but $12 worth of weights and springs can make one go a hundred miles an hour or climb at 12°Grade at a crawl
