The first owner of this Infiniti put $45000 in extras into this G35 but had to give it up with only 800 miles on the car back in 2005 (Obviously there's a good story there that I will elaborate on in the next video). I owned it from there until it had 25000 miles. I sold it in 2010 and the next owner only put 88 miles total on the car over the next 4 years (obviously there is another good story there I will elaborate on in the next video) and now I have bought it back. We do a quick walk around but more importantly we take it out for a pretty exciting drive from downtown Seattle to Redmond.

I had a 2003 G35 when I lived in Seattle. The I-90 bridge was my favorite 1/4 mile ever! I romped the gas one day to avoid a wreck, had my buddy in the passenger seat, I got the front tires off the ground! It was on Beacon hill. Now I am spoiled. Now I want the big brother though, the GT-R! So I know the love that these instill. The one problem I had... A low idle, rear wheel drive, high torque monster, is just too much in the snow!

I found out that the V8 from an FX53 SUV has the same mounts. Swapping out the V35QD 3.5L for the 8 and redoing the aspiration to match, gets around 800bhp with no turbos or supercharger. Nissan calls it a "Specter" when you do that.

MrSlawter Those window motors break fairly regularly. Sometimes they just need to be re-timed so make sure that isn't the problem. I love the red color, you don't see them all that often.

Did Infiniti ever make 6 speed manual G35’s or G37’s with AWD? These cars really were the cream of the crop, worthy of its Nissan Skyline heritage. Nowadays when I see what Infiniti/Acura/Lexus has to offer, I look to the left and see a very beautiful (but unfortunately not V6 3.3TT) manual Genesis G70 instead. Time will tell if they’ll be as reliable. I hope the future Acura Type S will equip manual transmissions options.

That was always the missing link...a six speed awd. Since the GTR only came out as an A/T, Infiniti really would have been on to something with a performance-oriented G35 or G37 coupe with manual and awd...but they decided against it...so sad.

+Kingztheking Gaming Ichiro, the former Mariners baseball player, has an '04 with a supercharger that is pretty wicked. I've always been curious about how much more or less I'd like the car with a Stillen supercharger as opposed to turbos. Especially with a light boost that's going to see 50 or 60 horsepower. My turbos are from '05 so if I were to get turbos now I'd go for GReddy or HKS. More important to me than the turbos would be the quality of the installation. If you live within 1000 miles of Seattle, go to Ishii's in Bellevue...that guy is amazing.

An '06 sedan is just about perfect the way it is. Stillen makes a great exhaust for the G35 sedan, but for what you spend vs what you get I'd rather use that money to go on a nice trip to Cancun or somewhere fun.

Hey I just bought an 04 G35 AT with 108k miles for 10K last month. It's my first car and I absolutely love it. I am really interested in learning the ins and outs of this car and I've noticed a couple mods on it such as an upgraded Stillen air intake, JVC stereo HU, and a backup camera. Being such a new driver I don't know a whole lot about cars but I'd like to know what would be the best way to go about finding out if there are any other mods I haven't found yet. Erozlol Stillen is the right intake and is Nissan/Infiniti's performance partner. They will even cover the upgrades under the manufacturers warranty if the dealer installs them when the car is new. The stereo is a popular update because the BOSE unit often breaks (twice in my case). Backup cameras should be a legal requirement so that's another popular add. For some inexpensive fun you might think of exhaust pipes to take advantage of that open intake. A lot of times you can find a small muffler shop in town that can put some bigger pipes on inexpensively. In the Seattle area I strongly recommend DAN FAST MUFFLER in Bellevue, those guys do a great job at a really great price. After that I would look at the condition of my tires and brakes to make sure they can handle the limits of what this car can do.

What exactly can I do about this while avoiding a $6000+ paint job? Randy Farrell Thanks Randy. Obviously I failed the smog test since I'll never be able to make the check engine light turn off. So I was told to contact the EPA directly for a waiver...and they said no. So, like anything else, I got a hold of the head of the Washington State EPA. I told him I managed for an Infiniti dealership and had a perfect driving record and merely wanted to showcase what it was I sold for a living. He said that so long as I promised not to embarrass him he would sign off. And there you go, street legal she is.

No, it was stroked to about 3.8 liters...different crankshaft to go with different pistons. What's funny about that car is it had high capacity fuel injectors as well and still averaged almost 19 miles per gallon. I was super-bummed to see that car go.

Wouldn't even come close to a GTR in spite of the "specs". Nice car though. A bit, well a lot, over sold in this video (felt like I was watching a info commercial). There's tons of G35's out there with similar builds but the low milage is nice (however the open exhaust would make the car a chore to drive). Very loud during that run. Needs some serious sound deadening.

It has a 3rd BOSE stereo since they all break. It has no modern technology of any kind, which is fine with me since I only listen to PBS radio and Metallica cd's.

My I30 isnt tubo charged but it has three things that make it faster and stand out from the pack: two back to back Morosso turbo (straight) mufflers with a resonator exhuast tip to reduce sound level, a 250.00 chip that plugs into the computer's (service) outlet near the steering wheel, and finally a K & N cold air intake. The increased HP was dramatic but still not hot rod worthy by any means.

Joe, Ive been debating turboing my 06 G35 coupe. She has slightly more miles than yours, (78k) and is still a 6spd, optioned out. What would you recommend done? Have you done any motor work yet? In the case of this car, I'm not selling it, just reviewing it, since it's my own personal car. There's a sad reason why it was driven so little...the prior owner passed away soon after purchasing it and no one else could drive a stick. When I bought it, they had it delivered via transport truck to me. In fact, all my stuff was still in the car from the day I sold it.

Marcin Kaczmarek Cars with big horsepower can be a lot of fun, but they can also be a handful if you've never spent time with that kind of car before. 600 horsepower sounds great, but if you're not used to driving it you can be in for a disaster and knowing that makes it scary to drive. Motorcycles are the same way. You see tons of bikes with tiny miles because somebody buys the baddest bike at the store and realizes on the ride home this thing is way too much horse for the jockey. So it just sits in the garage. Obviously there is a sad story behind this one since the previous owner passed, but nobody else could handle this car so it just sat.

Thanks for the detailed explanation and it is like with all things the equipment is not key, knowing how to use it is. I am looking into getting a stock g35 - drove a 350z and it was quite fun I have to say. Double that horse power and I am sure it would give me a bit of a scare to say the least.

There are several g35's that have better built engines, bigger turbos, bigger injectors, bigger fuel system better wheels with actually decent tires and tire widths. There's even one g35 that has over 1000hp. Cute video though. Get some real tires and wheels.

SovietSpetsnazi You know, I've thought about replacing them over the years. I'm sure they were marginally expensive in 2005 but they were low rent district by about 2008. However, they seem to work for this car in a way I've never seen another wheel improve upon, so it looks like were stuck together for the long haul. As much as I have punished them over the past year and being 10 years old, they are actually still like brand new.

@@fl3cko91 TurboCity Los Angeles built and installed the performance options like the turbos, methanol injection, etc...and they also installed the carbon/ceramic clutch, magnetic ride control suspension and new computers. Infiniti of Riverside did the exhaust, AP Racing brakes and various small stuff. Ishii Bellevue, Wa did the gauges and tune.

I'm sure you've put two plus two together that a manager for 10 years at an Infiniti dealer with 6 million views on his channel wouldn't lie about his car since it's sitting every single day at the front door of the store and about 100 customers have asked to take a look under the hood (one of them who bought the car for $35,000 before I bought it back 4 years later)...since it gets worked on exclusively by his own technicians who have seen all of his videos. I have to qualify that since it was originally built at Turbo City in Los Angeles and recently re-tuned at Ishii Motor Industries in Bellevue who changed the computers to make it more serviceable in Hawaii where I shipped it. When I make the next video for it, I'll make sure to showcase every single feature just for you...and I don't have too many choices on the wheels since a: they came with the car when I bought it with 800 miles and b: very few rims clear AP Racing brakes front and rear...especially back in 2005.
