I think a lot of people waited eagerly for this interview for about 1,5 years now. Every time Thorin talked about Rekkles or Fnatic, he always sneaked a little compliment towards Youngbuck in his rant or explanation. Thorin has been teasing this interview for about 2 years now and I am so happy that this interview is exactly what I hoped it would be. Even now Youngbuck clearly hasn't told us everything (he is still active in the scene so he clearly remains professional and doesn't spill things he shouldn't be talking about), but it is enough for us to understand what Thorin has been talking about the last couple of years.

Looking at it now, he's totally still carrying a looot of anger and frustration in him, judging by his tone and body language. Even Hily trying to de-escalate the pressure by reassuring him and confirming they were not gonna play the comp again, saying they played like shit (unless someone else said that in particular). That's obviously speculation, but there's some very good evidence to suggest that it was him. Good find.

Knowing the Fnatic comms of that TES series, we all probably know that the player that tilted off the face of the earth referred to in 52:00 was Rekkles, telling the rest of the team "not to disrespect FPX because they think they are """"bad"""", and shitting on bwipo for the Rengar pick saying "its all fun with these picks until it stops being fun"

What a fantastic interview! Thorin's interviews tend to be substantive and insightful so credit to him. The interviewee obviously plays a part in that as well and Youngbuck comes off as straightforward, articulate and likeable; a fantastic combination for an interviewee. Quite surprising that he didn't get many offers. From his description of how he studied the game and how he was able to stall Fnatic's downward spiral, I would think he would be a good choice for any team. I hope he gets his chance to fix the narrative and overperform with a team that is perceived as weaker.

Thanks a lot for this interview, and to Youngbuck for being as open he can about everything that has happened so far. Only since his FNC days but still I have respected him since then. I see him as someone much more involved and contributing to a teams success then many others coaches we see nowadays in other teams. This interview was really interesting. I had no idea for example of him being interested in both Lider and MagiFelix already back then, although MagiFelix was indeed around for a while! And I was impressed with Excel's climb in LEC, even though people pointed out that the way they drafted and won games was only going to get them that far and no further. That it would be thanks to meta and when facing "easier" teams. But I think Excel was underestimated. Patrik for example really smurfed it, and I didn't feel like the old Excel that was overly scared. Anyway, I hope for the best. I want LEC to be a blood bath :D

@colinmcbottle3 жыл бұрын
Rekkles for sure. On one hand he was somewhat displeased with still staying on Garen duty (as said by YoungBuck, they had 2 plans, either give the other team Renekton FP and pick something they valued more/neutered it, or just go Garen/Yuumi), and on the other while he was on Garen duty, Bwipo went full Bwipo with the Rengar top pick, which actually did what it was intended to do in lane, smash it, but he failed really hard into bleeding that lead on the rest of the map and later on Rengar just gets obliterated if the other team is constantly grouping up. Besides draft, he also didn't like that some of his teammates probably thought FPX was bad. Whose blame was it we dont factually know because Rekkles doesnt name anybody in the comms, but we do know that Nemesis thought DoinB wasnt really good as a laner, and generally his roaming style is the antithesis of Nemesis stands for as a midlaner.

Rekkles looked really angry and said something like lets never play this again Joey said that someone was hella pissed so it must be Rekkles, right? It probably means that rumours about Rekkles and Joey not working well together were true so i assume it is Martin who wanted Joey out with ultimatum. Second, Youngbuck said he had Carlos doing this once before on his mind as he made his decision to leave G2, which, being in 2017 actually only leaves Kikis.

A personalities like that can be a really big problem for a team atmosphere. Plus the fact that even come to "YB or Rekkles" really says a lot about it. Honestly right now would be the perfect time for him to comeback. Just for the fact that at time for FNC it was "YB or Rekkles" and now Rekkles is gone so I'm really curious how he would handle things. In another interview YB even said that he think Bwipo is anything else more then a toplaner, back then he told FNC to put Bwipo in jung (or mid) and now Bwipo gonna be FNC new jung too. Honestly I can't even blame the org that much, is not easy to kick your star player and face of the org (I'm talking about Rekkles). Youngbuck will have a very tough road ahead with XL next split. G2, MAD, RGE, FNC, VIT look to me like the clear top 5 rn (although it is still very speculative of course). XL will essentially have to battle with all the other teams for the 6th spot, which seems very difficult to me. Summer 21 might be another missed playoffs for Youngbuck and another building block to the “he got carried by Perkz and Caps” narrative. Really wish him the best tho, he seems very nice and competent (albeit this might just be the bias I have after watching too much Thorin)
