Great video but it did leave out a few things. 1. Tallahassee is one of the best places in the nation to see a football game. You can't go wrong at an FSU game. Great atmosphere! 2. When colleges are in session, FSU has music, theater, dance and film schools that all rank in the top 5 in the nation so there are always opportunities to see plays and concerts. Several famous actors and entertainers are FSU grads. 3. FSU is the only college in the country with it's own circus. The FSU Flying Circus trains acrobats and performers who go on to perform professionally. They open to the public a couple of times a year for shows. 4. The original buildings in the middle of the FSU campus are pre-civil war structures that housed and trained the teen-aged cadets for the confederate army. Those cadets prevented the fall of Tallahassee to the northern troops by stopping them at the Battle of Natural Bridge. Tallahassee did surrender at the end of the war. Those gothic brick buildings are still used today at FSU. 4. North of downtown, there are several canopy roads that make you feel like you are driving through a forest. Big Live Oaks completely cover those roads and it makes for a great drive. 5. The cemetery in downtown Tallahassee has some of Florida's most interesting history including former governors and a famous French Prince who was Napoleon's brother-In-law. I went to school at FSU and left Tally in 1995. I still go down once in a while for a football game. Living in Atlanta makes me appreciate how clean and well maintained Tallahassee is every day. Streets are all smoothly paved and traffic lights are all synchronized. The people are generally very friendly but there are still a few rednecks.

You can't be serious. People here are rude, uptight and very self-centered. I used to live in Miami so I know the vibe of rude people. Tallahassee is now one of the rudest cities in Florida.

Went to FSU from 72 to 79. Much has changed since then. I do remember getting down at St. Marks Lighthouse with a certain young sophomore. She was as crazy as me.

I lived in Tallytown for 10 years and never heard of half these places. The number one attraction should have been and still is the campus at FSU. It was beautiful when I went there 40 years ago and is even more beautiful today.

i just moved from there to Alabama. i lived in Tally 8 years and was glad to escape it!! Crime is horrible there!!!

The population is deceiving because large segments of developed areas are not inside the “city limits”, so they are not counted in the City of Tallahassee population. Most of the 75,000 students are also not counted in the population of Tallahassee.

In this video the lighthouse address is listed as a Tallahassee, Fl. address. It's not in Tallahassee or in Leon County, it's more closer to St. Marks however, if you're talking road wise it's closer to a place called Newport which Newport uses the Crawfordville Post Office while St. Marks has their own post office. St. Marks Lighthouse, St. Marks and Newport is in Wakulla County. Another good place to visit is Wakulla Springs State Park.

the best thing I did was move from this city nothing to do no jobs, I live in Hallandale Beach Fl which is close to Miami and Hollywood Beach Fl the night life is great it's a lot of jobs that's available and paying good.

That's because you went to school on land that was hog pasture and a town formally known as "Hog Town" so yeah, there's that. The best thing about Gainesville is that it's close to Orlando.

Well I have been living in Tallahassee for the last four years and after the first two years I was ready to leave... There's nothing good or fun about Tallahassee not even the football teams!!!

@@LuvFaces69 LOL That was a low (but valid) blow! I left Tallahassee because it just felt too small for me from a career and lifestyle perspective. It is a beautiful small city and I realized years later how much I took for granted when living there. It's great if you work for the State and are raising a family. Lots to do outdoors and in close driving distance. I'm retiring soon and leaving Atlanta probably for a destination overseas but I have fond memories of Tallahassee and FSU.

Well I work for the state and I'm still bored..there's nowhere to really take your kids for a fun time there's nothing for a adult to do other going to the clubs or to sports games...smh
