I went to UB back in the 70s, when Buffalo was essentially falling apart, but went back for the first time (not counting passing through) just last month. I was astounded at how much had changed for the better. The trees are back, the waterfront is approachable, the food scene has improved, there are things to do. While I was in school I drove a taxi and knew just about every corner of the city, but it looked nothing at all as I remember. The big disappointment though was that Main St. has become a ghost town. I guess the Metro going underground removed what little traffic was left on it. I felt like I was the only car on the road. The Anchor Bar was the only thing I recognized until I got all the way downtown, but then had to turn off. I only had one afternoon/evening to explore so I want to go back to spend a few days there. I'll combine it with a Finger Lakes wine tour and family in Syr. I've seen Niagara Falls enough to not go back. And one thing that was the same? Mr. Goodbar!

I’ve lived in the Buffalo area my entire life. Thank you for showing the good aspects of the city. Buffalo is always the brunt of snow jokes and lousy sports teams.

Love my hometown, unfortunately not living there now. Fun observation but Buffalo is becoming a film hub for major blockbuster movies. There is so much potential in downtown. I expect it to look completely different in the next 10-15 years. And Buffalonians are some of the kindest people!

I was on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls back in July 2023, but I did see Buffalo’s downtown skyline! I also saw KeyBank Center, which is where the Buffalo Sabres play!

I don't care what anyone says. Buffalo is a great city. Especially when compared to a lot of other crappy cities in America. It ranks up there.

Let me start by stating that I know this video has nothing to do with Cleveland, I’m going to compare and talk about both as they both sit on Lake Erie and have similar histories and many ties. And two cities I looked into while planning a relocation. I’d choose cleveland over Buffalo. Although Buffalo is slowly making a comeback. Which Cleveland has yet to officially prove. Buffalo’s population grew for the first time since 1950 in the latest 2020 census. While cleveland lost 6% - continuing the trend of population decline and suburban exodus 7 straight decades now. Cleveland’s metro area has remained relatively the same tho - still double that of buffalo’s. Buffalo has its own beauty. Beautiful snowy winters, while cleveland misses most the lake effect unless you’re on the further east side of the metro area. Cleveland’s downtown is undergoing a massive resurgence. With population increasing, foot traffic increasing, and tons of things to do. Buffalo is still somewhat sleepy. If you like a mid sized town - buffalo. If you like a larger urbanized feel - cleveland

Thanks for the nice video. I was here in 2002 and really enjoyed it. I would say Niagara Falls should be #11 as a special bonus because it really is a separate town and recreation area with its own stuff to see and do. I think adding it into the Buffalo Top 10 is kindof cheating ;-) But no offense intended or taken. Greetings from Oregon!

You’ve Completely missed the best part of Buffalo.... Music!!!! For whatever reason, there are incredible musicians and band there. You can find any style of music that you like. You didn’t even mention Buffalo Wings!😳😳😳😳😫😫😫😫 I too spent most of my years there going to UB in the late 70’s. Then moving on to Berklee College of Music in Boston. I made many life long friends there and had more fun in that town than any other. Now Boston????? It totally SUCKS! Except for the school.

Buffalo is a dump with housing, property and school taxes through the roof... 9% sales tax, ridiculous gun laws, cold weather that lasts 7 months or more. So much salt gets put on the road your vehicle won't last 4 years before rotting out. Everyone has an attitude laying on the horn as soon as the light turns green..stores and hospitals over charge, then apologize when you catch them...great place to visit horrible place to live
