This is why I stopped being a practicing catholic when my children were small - I simply was totally uncomfortable having my kids participate in church activities such as ccd when I was not around...this was a loss for my kids but I was so disgusted I felt there was no other choice...

As a Catholic, I can tell you it's absolutely pervasive, and I can't think of any church that hasn't had one such scandal. For every one of these creatures that get caught, there's at least three more that get away with it. I love religion and the warmth it brings into people's lives but in order for people to find spiritual guidance the grime needs to be swept away and dealt with.

This is *SYSTEMIC* in the Catholic church and *world wide!* My wife is from the Philippines and her niece confessed that she was raped by a priest in Catholic church in Manila just 3 weeks ago. My wife doesn't know what to do to help her niece. The church offered her 1,000 US dollars. My wife told me that it is useless to try to fight the Catholic church in court because they have unlimited financial resources and immense political power in the Philippines. This was absolutely heartbreaking for our Diocese. Absolutely infuriating just how deeply this ran.. I loved Archbishop Sanchez, and he was a friend to many in my family. He was the first and only Hispanic Native New Mexican to lead the Diocese of Santa Fe, the State's largest diocese.

I've been spending time doing research on my old parish. Three priests in my parish ran amok while he was abusing women. And he's buried at the St. Francis Basilica. He may have been a "great man" but he was rotten and took advantage of a lot of women.

The problem of this is way, way older and deeper than, this. In theology, to be more exact the explanation of it, and the propaganda of it. It is sustained by very simple slogans such as, "G-d is forgiveness." "G-d is love." "G-d is compassionate." Very true, but the trick is to keep them as short as possible, without any space, as an argument or time, in order to put the expression through G-ds reasoning, with all possible scenarios that you could apply an expression such as (G-d is love, forgiveness, compassion etc) to, thus obtaining, having, and maintaining control. This is backed by films and books, all sustaining and supporting the method, because in larg crowds it helps keep, euphoria, charisma, excitement up, and converting. Example, you are being bullied by someone with more backing than you, humanly, financially, legally, and theologically. The last one will always be used first against you, (theology) by a representative, that should be impartial, in the form of. "Look I understand you, but G-d himself suffered and he forgave his aggressors." Very true if you are G-d, if just a simple human being on the other hand, than the love of G-d should be applied to you equally, under G-ds law, by not being bullied, let's say. If that fails then, the human, financial, and legal resources will normally make you see forgiveness, and love, and compassion etc etc, with or without your agreement. If on the other hand, at a water fountain two or more people meet, one or more of them have committed atrocious acts, while one or more of them have not, while thirsty, all will quench the thirst at the same fountain. A different aspect of the expression is revealed. Making the expression "G-d is love, forgiveness, compassion, patience etc be in a different light and weight. If you don't explain G-d like this, than the words "put your sword away." Will never be understood. But you know this as well, your opinion shows are not much of opinion shows, more in the spector of bla bla bla, than let's take a poll and see in more detail the percentages of each bla, thus we understand where everyone is in the bla bla bla slogan department.

I am so glad that we dont have a priesthood or priests in Islam. No wonder that I heard that some of the last words of Prophet Muhammed PBUH was a curse upon the Christian's and the Jews for making their priests and rabbis almost equal to God.
