He just doesn’t like the SEC because they don’t let him do whatever he wants. He needs to follow the rules like everyone else. Just because you short a stock doesn’t mean you’re a bad person, it means you expect a company to not perform as well as others think, that’s not illegal. Elon hates shorts because he likes being rich and he knows damn well Tesla is wildly overvalued. Going long or shorting both involve risk.
@opgrif8952 жыл бұрын
@@ArturoGarzaID Thats not it at all. The SEC knew he had secured funding to take Tesla private but pursued an open investigation and Elon had to fully cooperate as the SEC (gov) told the banks that if he didn't cooperate then they should stop funding tesla. Go look up the interview and you'd see that basically, he had to cooperate with the bogus SEC investigation unless he wanted to lose all capital funding from the banks and go bankrupt. Seems like banks are in the back pocket of the SEC

You want truly challenging and helpful questions, ask him about the technical details of the newest BFR/Starship redesign, details of the Model Y, development in autonomous driving software, or at least if he would reconsider taking Tesla private if one day the stock truly hits $420. Yes but you have to admit the SEC has a reason to exist. Or else companies would easily manipulate their stocks 24/7. For example, company wants to buy their stocks back for a huge discount. Easy. Just have the CEO Tweet; “Our Company might go bankrupt 😫.” Then an hour later after purchase; “Just kidding ✊😆.”
@ssnful1234 жыл бұрын
History in Reverse what if a company like GM lies about completing the safety measures? Stocks go up, and then they have more revenue through lies. Companies freedom of speech is restricted because it can cause huge fallout for everyone. Like Alex said, what if a company wants to go private. To do this, they might need more money. Or, just have the CEO tweet “we are filing for chapter 13 bankruptcy. It’s over.” Stocks dip, they buyback stocks, and go private. They could cause hundreds of thousands of losts for investors. Freedom of speech is abused in this way. Would you say trademark and copyright are restrictions of speech, just because it stops certain uses? I wouldn’t, because it stops greedy people making companies that pretend to be one thing. Elon is a funny guy, and I think the SEC did overreact, but what he said DID cause a surge in stock price, which is illegal. You take on certain responsibilities when you become a CEO or that kind of position, and what you say can cause thousands in damages.

Case is settled by him agreeing to have his public statements (including tweets) regarding Tesla monitored by Tesla's board of directors. 4. He claims his tweets are not reviewed before he posts them. 5. She argues that even if only some tweets are supposed to be reviewed according to the agreement the board would have to review all of them before they are posted since they have to determine if a tweet is potentially market-moving.

@Mr. H-Bomb Are you saying that taking a company private is nothing more than deleting a ticker symbol? Elon's tweet implied a tender offer at $420 per share. 1. While shareholders would have received a substantial premium over the market price at the time if they had accepted such an offer, some of them probably valued Tesla higher and going private would have made it significantly harder for them to sell their shares later. 2. @@davez5201 In my case, this clip is a bad example of why I don't like her interviewing style. Given this single interview, it wasn't any big deal. I have seen her interviews a lot over the years, though, and she has lost my respect due to her propensity to misunderstand the difference between asking difficult questions and being unnecessarily combative. She has a tendency to act like she needs to win the discussion rather than be a tool to get information out of the interviewee. She lets her opinions cloud the discussion more than a journalist should and she doesn't realize that no one cares what she thinks. This is not a problem exclusive to this interviewer, unfortunately. This is a common problem with most journalists on major platforms. They need to learn to get out of the way and let the story carry itself rather than letting their ego interject themselves into every story.

That does not mean that speech can not result in others making decisions you may feel are detrimental. For example, you have the right to tell anyone who will listen that your boss is a terrible person. Free speech though won't protect you from being fired when they find out. In this example, you are both free to speak, and there is a consequence for that speech.

Surely the more resistant it is the safer the driver is ? Well no , not exactly , in physics there is the relatively simple equation a= (v-u)/t What this mean is that the end velocity minus the starting divided by time This is why crumple zones exist to increase time as the longer the time the less the acceleration and so the less the force using the equation for force (because it ix f=ma) F=(mv-mu)/t this will therefore also decrease the force The musk , by hardening it has actually increased the force of a car hitting the cybertruck

Bro I love our constitution as much as the next guy, but when are ya'll gonna learn that the first amendment only protects you from being censored by the government? It doesn't affect twitter, facebook, walmart etc. They can enforce any and all speech regulations they see fit on their property or platforms, because they aren't government and you're on their private property, whether it be virtual or physical. Of course, that same right extends to you on your private property. You can censor all the speech you want within your own home/business/online platform. Just please, stop thinking everyone has to bend over backwards for free speech. I'll go out of my way to stop using a service/product from a company that shows itself to be anti-free speech, but that doesn't mean I don't acknowledge that they have every right to do so because they aren't, in fact, a government body in anyway shape or form.
@David-kx7tz3 жыл бұрын
@@99mage99 True, but they shouldn't be able to censor people. With how big social media is today the government is allowing unelected people to have the ability to effectively erase 99% of the influence of a person who they disagree with. And guess what, they will only ban speech that is anti-establishment or controversial towards the actions and decisions of the government. It is ultimately a loophole for the government because while they are not directly banning certain speech, these companies which provide platforms that virtually everyone gets their information from, are now banning speech the government wouldn't want people to hear. It results in speech the government would want to censor, if it could, being almost completely censored and so there needs to be regulations on these companies otherwise we are moving in a very scary direction. Far-Right wing, as well as socialist groups have already been banned by facebook, and we are left with the status quo being all that's left, no controversial ideas seeing the light of day.
