Those cicada lures are absolutely gun for Australian bass down under. Key is to use them around sunrise, and cast them under trees so it seems like they have fallen out of the tree. Most of my best bass have been on cicadas

I've used them for jungle perch and sooties in northern Queensland and they are absolutely mad.

lojo.fishing , I saw the one that you used on KZbin and that was the reason I bought two of them last month from Aliexpress! Also, the one that you used has a lot of action. The one on this video is stiff and has no action! But still, he caught a bunch of fish with it so how can he complain, right? Whatever, don't buy the cheapest lures you see in any style of lures you find on those Chinese sites! However, I do have a tremendous amount of luck buying Chinese lures from Amazon and Aliexpress though!

I had a lot of luck with the cicada lure. You have to use it correctly to get the action. Push the wings back farther. Lol

I bought two of them from Aliexpress and it got to me about two weeks ago. I tried them out at my local river and one of them worked good with pretty good consistent action, but for some reason the other one had a stiffer wing and it didn't wiggle and wobble from side to side like the other one. Should I loosen the screws on its wings to get more action? When you say you pushed the wings back, doesn't that make their wings more spread out to the sides? Is that the position you want the wings to be? The wings on mine rest at a forward position when they are at rest.

I have the cicada life and you need to make sure the wings are pushed out as far as they can go and it will move like a crazy crawler

There is a cicada lure similar to that in australia and its the best lure ever for fishing for australian bass. only difference is that the wings vibrate and move and has a amazing action

I have those cicada lures. I found that you have to bend the wings back before you use them. If you do that, the action is great!

I've got yellow and blue dragonflies and they get blown up. I don't know why he kept getting it upside down. It wiggles back and forth when it walks across the water causing its wings to splash the surface like a stuck dragonfly

Your Crazy Crawler cicada lure's wings wasn't opening up properly. The original Crazy Crawler from the '60s had metal wings. They are designed to fold closed when casting, and then, open up on retrieval. They should open to nearly 90 degrees from the body and has a tremendous side to side, crawling action on top of the water, similar to a Jitterbug. I believe the plastic wing on that model is the issue.

Fish em sslllooowww, both like a jitterbug , cicada needs to be brought on plane to get it up and running proper, I've seen them painted like bees and birds with aluminum wings, dragon fly again , gotta get the proper retrieve height and cadence, I think they'd be cool, both remind me of jitterbugs.
