@Franklin Nikita Not even that. If you put a goldfish in a natural setting, it will change its color. Captive wild carp can also go gold. The selective breeding shows up in species such as the black moore, or lionhead.

​@@rogermorrison2948 While goldfish (carrasius auratus) can dramatically change colour due to stress, light exposure or even just a genetic trigger at a certain age, carp (cyprinus carpio) don't change colour once they reach maturity. They can get slightly lighter or slightly darker depending on sunlight exposure (generally down to seasonal water clarity) in the same way we get a tan, they also regain some colour after a fight if you rest them in a retention sling for a few hours but that is basically the same as how we change colour after stressful exercise and the blood drains away from the skin They don't dramatically change colour though, a common will always be a common and a koi will always be a koi because that's the genetics they're born with (kois being the result of selective breeding of parents with desirable mutations). It is not uncommon for common carp to be a bit orange, almost black, silvery, bronze or brown and vastly different shapes from long and thin, short and round, have shoulders like a linebacker, big heads, small heads, tiny fins, huge great paddles or anything in between. They're prolific breeders and aren't too picky about what they breed with (providing it's a cyprinid) so they end up as varied as stray dogs.

G'day from Australia Nick. I've been laid up in hospital for more the 4 weeks after a pushbike accident. After 3 surgeries and lots of poking I'm finally starting to catch up on my KZbin subscriptions. And, you keep it family friendly so I can watch it with my little grandson. As for chicken livers, they are really good catfish bait and already come in convenient bait size. But you want them fresh and bloody. Don't let them rot and spoil, they work best fresh, and are more pleasant to work with. The blood is where it's at, that's what they smell. I admire and enjoy your optimism and, perseverance. I find the pleasure you get in catching even insignificantly small fish admirable. I would, however, like to see you take a fishing vacation north to Minnesota, Michigan, or Minnesota. You'd have to change your style of fishing, but you could catch all kinds of fish that you can't where you fish now. Northern pike, muskellunge, walleye, smallmouth bass, lake trout, all would be available to you.

Nice flick off of the catfish bells! I have access to only 1 spillway in my town for our reservoir and it’s bone dry. You can fish the reservoir and it’s only 4’ deep but it holds some 5 - 10 pounders. All large mouth bass. Some mud pout or black catfish with a very slimy skin..,

I would suggest the "Howell Island Conservation Area" here in Missouri. It is in Chesterfield, Missouri along the Missouri River. But wear your snake proof boots as there were quite a few of them the last time I was there (7 years ago or so).

Bounce dryer sheets safety pined to the back of your shirt, you become invisible to mosquitoes.... also skin o soft from Avon, both work great. I always have both in my truck... never know when those dive bomber mosquitoes are going to come out, and by the coast in Texas, they sometimes blot out the sun.... drain you in minutes.
