I fish a spillway where I live and these stripers just sit at the bottom of the dam. The fish are all consistently lunkers and will gladly take a popper or crawfish. This Japanese guy taught me how to fish the base of the dam with crawfish and he was doing so well that he had to swap some of his fish on the stringer. Hybrids and White Bass put up the ultimate fight and are very tasty. Nice fish!

I am currently still stuck on urban fishing (especially since I landed a 11.5 old man cat not too long ago) but you really make me want to make a change. Long story short, thank you for being so humble & amazing. My love for panther Martin spinners, ultralight st. Croixs, and pflueger president reels runs extremely deep now. There's no better feeling than a fishing pole bent in half and the drag just ripping out. You know the battle is on, reminds me of snook fishing in the backwaters of S.W Florida. If it’s a power plant lake you should be going there in the winter. Warm water releases don’t attract fish in the summer because fish would rather be in 80 degree water than 100 degree water BUT in the winter they’ll pile up there because the water could be 60 there when it’s 40 everywhere else.

That first one you lost my guess was another monster hybrid bass the why it was running. It may have been just as big or bigger than the one you got. I got my biggest at my local dam on a whole bluegill years ago. It was almost 31 inches but didn't weigh it. Great catch. They are awesome fighters.

Another AWESOME video! Yesterday I decided to show my wife the OLD videos you have up. Some 5-6 years ago, mainly the "Micro Fishing" ones. Though we enjoyed those as well, still prefer your "strange baits" episodes more! Not to mention your video editing came along way. Sighs we still need to get a dang drone for our videos. So I do what I can during editing. Tight lines Nick

Oh man, that is a darn shame you lost that first big fish on someone else's fishing line and getting a soaker. You should get a good pair of chest waders, or two lol breathable for most situations but if you want a warmer option for cold weather, neoprene but they are form fitting 😆 glad you were able to get a new PB after all that.
