I absolutely love your music, ESPECIALLY the dobro music when you have it, and your slow motion video of your rods is even incredible! Keep up the good work! Your videos are excellent. I love watching them. The edits are so good and the close ups with music choice make for a very pleasing experience. That’s when I noticed at 3:45, there’s a chip in the ceramic insert on the outside of the eyelet. Keep an eye on it looks super sharp. It would be sad to lose one like that. Keep up the good work Nick!! 👍🏻
@abimaellimon Жыл бұрын
Very keen eye, I would of never caught that.
@Lilith-Rose2 жыл бұрын
3:44 when your braid starts to get hairy like that it's time to change it out or cut back to past the damage before it gets too frayed and you end up losing a fish. Might also be worth checking your line guides and the bale arm roller for damage. I like using braid for anything over 15-20lbs for the diameter advantage (anything less then I tend to use a match grade mono or flouro for the clarity and the more forgiving stretch if your drag isn't set right) but the big drawback is the wear resistance

Here on the Mississippi river, we call the Bowfin a "dogfish", the "freshwater drum" are sheepshead, and a gar is simply a pain! I like the trick photography where he sticks a smallish fish right up to the camera, so it looks gigantic! I have done the same with a gray squirrel, so it looked like it was the size of a bear! Lol!

Funny bowfin story.... I was fishing once and caught a pretty small bluegill. As I was reeling it in, BOOM, birds nest from hell. A few seconds after fixing the birds nest my line went very tight, and my drag started screaming. I finally get the fish to shore and it's a very nice sized Bowfin. Not very long, but quite chunky. 28" 13.21 lbs. The bluegill had gotten lodged against the side, and was the only reason I was able to catch the fish. I pulled the Bluegill out of the Bowfin's mouth, and surprisingly the Bluegill was actually still alive haha. Took the Bluegill home and put it in my freshwater tank filled with native fish, and it lived there for almost 2 years after that Bowfin encounter.
