About 40 years ago when I first started to go fishing, I caught a nice sized Sunfish that was every color of the rainbow. It was so beautiful that I let it go. I recently looked Sunfish up and there are a bunch of different kinds, maybe that chart could help you identify the different types you are catching. Some were called Pumpkinseed. I never knew!

I use 1” Gulp minnows on a lite jig-head for gills and crappie. I have got smallies on the too. They work great! That is a cool area. You’re right! Thanks

Awesome spillway video as always! Your videos have helped me out alot in the spillway close to my house. Sometimes I find using a 1/8-1/4 splitshot rig with nightcrawlers works pretty good in deeper areas for catfish and bass

I use the Gulp 1 inch minnows often in all colors but the 2 best colors are the chartreuse and the luna glow. The chartreuse seem to be softer and dont last as long but they have caught more fish.

try the 3" gulp minnow grubs with the curly tails are my go to baits, they come in white, orange, chartreuse and black. I fish primarily for walleye but happen to catch damn near everything else on them, my best for the year is a 32" channel cat

I REALLY wish that we had some real spillways in my area. I live near Pissburgh and the only spillways that I know of feed into the Ahia River (yes, the Ahia, as pronounced in my area, in reality it's the Ohio River), so no spillways like this.

There may have been a few big ones in the spillway at one time. Unfortunately, if there is no overflow then no new food comes in and they starve.That's why the real big ones need to be taken out of the ponds.
