@@MozzySails This is as good as talking to Ben Ainslie🤣. At some much later date could you maybe look at the best setup for watching AC37 ie. number of screens and best options to select. I watched AC36 live on my phone in bed as it was 3am, but have since found all the various feeds on KZbin. Given Barcelona will be our timezone, a geeky setup would be great. I'm still loving the live port/starboard feeds from the back of the boats for immersion, but the virtual eye gave best spacial awareness without showing live pictures at any size. And wished they left speed and VMG on at all times, one above the other. It was so critical to show shifts. You deserve a sponsor for the channel; are you going to RYA Dinghy Show 23?

Welcome Back Mozzy! and especially well done on the Endeavour Trophy, that is perhaps one of the top tests of sailing ability in the world, and deserves more recognition! As these America's cup boats push the limits of sailboat design, it is so good that the rules questioning is essential 'open source' and all teams can see what everyone is asking. Can only be good to have all the cup boats at somewhere close to optimum for the rules, and for the regattas themselves to be sailed with that all cleared up in advance. (No, I'm joking, for the cups history is full of intrigue and quotes like 'Britain rules the waves, but America Waives the Rules' !!). Hope family are well; has your little one been sailing yet?

I think I've tracked it down to the a lack of low pass filter on the software on my pc where I record audio separately. Same mic direct to camera, or on different software seems fine. So hopefully that should be fixed!

@@MozzySails I think low pass filters remove low frequencies. It sounded more like electronic noise. If you're using analog output from your microphone, it can be due to the quality of the preamps in the device you're plugging it into. For self powered microphones this can be mitigated by turning up the gain on the microphone, so that the recording device has a strong signal that needs less amplification. The preamps in separate microphones are usually better quality. Software these days has magic algorithms for removing noise.

With the launch of Luna Rossa's test boat, it seems they are curious enough regarding the deck configuration that ETNZ used in the last cup cycle to seemingly ask the question regarding the pro's & con's of their competitor's configuration. Likely only Luna Rossa will have enough insight at the end of testing to make a determination based on the operation of both configurations...unless one of the other syndicates that competed goes the other way. The race to innovate precedes by some distance the events that eventually occur on the water and I have a vague recollection that it was a very long build up before we saw even 2 boats operating in proximity to one another.

Didn't ETNZ start with a regular deck configuration on their first boat in AC36? So LR would be playing catch-up to them evaluating the benefits of the dropped deck. Though they already have simulated it extensively and ended up with the same result as ETNZ: it's better. Anyway, this year the Italians are finally going all the way. I'm positive about this. One more thing: The dropped deck seems like an unnecessary gimmick at this point. Everyone's going to do it so it doesn't provide any benefit anymore. If it's more expensive than a flush deck I would expect it to be banned from future installments unless there's some real innovations regarding the deck configuration in the second boats.
