@drewjohnson47943 жыл бұрын
It still is a very heavy feeling song. Not as "heavy" as many metal bands nowadays but heavy is in the writing not the speed. One is a banger every time. That double bass breakdown with James's chugging behind it is one of the heaviest feeling parts in a song ever recorded. You can't not wanna scream as loud as possible when listening to it. "Darkness" "Imprisoning me" "All That I See" "Absolute Horror" I get the same feeling now at 43 as I did the first time I heard it. A room with one playing above 100 decibels is one the heaviest feelings music will ever give a person. I know hundreds of songs that are faster and more brutal than one but none give me the same feeling of power.

well, it is. The - completness of it. shredding in D or C ... isn't heavy. Double bassing to pain isn't heavy! If it has no meaning, to the song, to the music ... it's, just STUPID. Nevermind the type of music. Song, music, has to carry a message. One is best (and the heaviest) song ever written! Period.

Lars' work in the 80s is unique and awesome. It culminated on the AJFA album. He really did amazing shit! The creativity is out of this world!
@davidrustylouis68183 жыл бұрын
@@JeremiasDK i agree. I think Lars as a drummer & Metallica as a band hit their pinnacle with AJFA. Although, I believe Lars did use a lot of 2nd, 3rd & 4th tracks combined to sound more complexin recording that album. I remember in junior high watching a vhs tape about Metallica recording or "the making of..." or something, where Lars or his drum tech admitted he had other dudes choking his cymbals for him during recording AJFA. The arrangements are still awesome & I think "puppets" & "justice" are Metallica's best all around.
