67-72 Chevy C10 Lower Steering Shaft

i ended up stumbling upon a shaft from a 2001 xj. i ordered the 3/4 dd to 1 inch dd. bored the 1inch side out to round. welded and shortened shaft. i have a 68 with the one piece steering column shaft. im using a square body steering gear

Did you need to cut and replace the end of the shaft? It wasnt the right size?

Can’t you just remove the steering box slide shaft on then reinstall box .???????

Link to the 48 spline 1 inch u joint for 82 c10 the shaft and install process are exactly the same. This guy saved me hours of work and damn near 3 times the money
