Most of the comments on the previous video for the 1968 Truck suggested that we take the front clip off and see what we are working with. So Steve disassembled the front clip and it is worse than we thought. The further Steve went, the more rust he found!

You and others saying, make it a short bed. Well, as a work truck, it is really nice when you buy a 4x8 sheet of whatever, to be able to lay it in the bed and shut the gate. I love the long beds for work truck. Hot Rod is a different story.

So far with my projects, I end up finding more rust, boogered up welds/patches, bondo in places it shouldn't be, etc. As far as $1200 vs $8000 project, I lean towards paying more to get one in better shape but when your on a budget, you get what you can afford & just deal with it & expect the worst. Setbacks are just part of it. My time is cheaper than paying for someone else's time & I like the challenges. Keep on grinding brother. It's worth getting the old truck back on the road.

Shit, just clean it up real good, drop a badass engine in it with a killer transmission, badass wheels & tires, fat & skinnys would be cool, tint the windows, lower it and let it ride. Hot Rod ole rough trucks is kind of a trend now. I drive a beater 84 C-10 that I paid a pair of cast iron oval port bigblock Chevy heads for, dropped about $15,000-$20,000 into the drivetrain, rebuilt all the suspension and shit. Truck still sports it's original construction site yellow paint. Rough as hell, but it hauls ass. Ive lightened it up dramatically. Whole lotta fun driving around in fast beaters. People dont know what the hell just happened. Sleepers are cool. But my old ass work truck looks and sounds fast now, so its pretty obvious its built. Used to look stock tho, but with a 500+hp engine in it. I'd have chumps trying to race me constantly on the street. Beat all kinds of modern expensive cars. Beat a modified 2015 Vette on the street not long ago. Im in a old construction site truck. Or so it appears. Fast beaters are cool. Ill probably never paint it, but id like to get it to run 8s in the 1/4 with a monster bigblock Chevy. Ole truck only has 38,000 miles on it, but it was an actual construction site truck.
