Stress, anxiety, nervousness - when these feelings inevitably arise, lecturer Kelly McGonigal says it’s not about making them go away, but using them to your advantage.
“What I have come to value about anxiety,” says McGonigal, “is it’s a sign that I care.” As she explains, feelings of stress alert us to things that matter to us and help us stay present in the moment - particularly useful, she says, when it comes to communication.
In this episode of Think Fast, Talk Smart, McGonigal and host Matt Abrahams discuss how to channel stress toward more effective communication and a deeper connection to our own purpose and meaning.

The main purpose that i watch this video is to practice my listening skill but it’s actually a helpful speech and i can understand mostly the meaning of this speech. I’m an anxious person when i have a communication from each other so this video helps me a lot about that problem❤

Five days ago, my boss abruptly fired me. Having been through many phases in my life, I knew that he was using me as a scapegoat to save his own skin, but I accepted it all for the sake of his family. This, video makes me actual confidence, thank you so much. I am living Nara city Jaoan so this video make me to go Zen temple here! Really appreciating! I will build my next life as I was told I was not capable, and I will do what I can do for the world and for others.

What a brilliant podcast. Specially the idea of joy in body movements was simply superb. That's what manifests in the body language of powerful communicators. Literally worth a 1000 bucks. Thanks to Matt Abrahams and McGonigal.

“Depression” is certainly promoted. Spiritually is very real thing yet they don’t want you to realize. If you brain is bothering you, listen to it constantly consistently. I can say, if you hear “your voice” in yoir head, that’s your left brain vocalizing on its own. It’s controlling you so get your ego detached from it. My advice is to be present, don’t think about future or past. Your voice will stop permanently trust me bro 😅

The joy of movement. So true. Moving makes me very happy. It changed my life and health drastically over the last decade and a half. Even the writer Erich Maria Remark has said: What moves is stronger than what stands still, or stays in one place.

Acknowledging the state and knowing that you care, paraphrasing it like the body is giving you a push from behind, really helps me manage the energy from being nervous! Dr. Kelly dives into the topic like thunder jeez.
