A beautiful green week where I'm working alone preparing the drainage and plumbing for the concrete floor. I'm locating the crossbeam where the chimney is going out of the wall. Finally, I'm out on a short hike in the valley.

You know Martin I’m finally beginning to get the rhythm of. how you take a brief adjustment in your work to reset the camera so that we get to enjoy so very much. I am quite impressed with how you manage that dual job of both filming and working and I guess the third job, editing what you film. I feel it requires a certain kind of brain to manage this juggling act. I can’t tell you how grateful I am that you are who you are and that you are doing this, so that many of us can sit for a joyful hour every week and be outside our lives. It’s a break all humans need, to get outside of our life. Thank you from my heart.❤

Nice that you make your own bread! I was a bit worried to see you using this aluminium pan and even scratching the sides with a knife. Plus baking paper is covered with chemicals.. Both very unhealthy.. Maybe consider using a cast iron pot and just cover the bottom with a bit of flour. To keep the bread fresh, beeswax paper works really well. 😊

Hey Martijn: You might want to cap your orange drain lines downstream outside the building and fill them with water before you pour your concrete. It will both test your joints and the larger plastic pipes want to float up out of the concrete when its wet. The weight of the water should help with that. I wouldn't want to suggest driving stakes to hold them down through your membrane. Good luck with the pour !!!

Just in case it’s never come up, you’ll want to make sure that when you pour the concrete, and while it’s starting to cure, you have water in your pipes. #1 to help keep them from floating in the concrete, but #2 so that any pipes made of softer, more flexible material don’t get squished by being surrounded in concrete, and this end up not being able to inflate all the way once it’s set and dry. It’s a common obstacle people with underfloor heating have.

Hello Martijn! Our winter is just starting here in Australia. It only gets cold for a couple of months ( well up here in Queensland) not like the winters in the Italian Alps. Brrrrrrrrrr! When I lived up in the Lower Alps north of Bergamo, the people told me there was only one snake left in Italy & that was the VIPER. It was very deadly. I was very wary when walking my two dogs In the mountains. I never did see one. When that little snake / lizard came out of the stone work I thought it might be a baby viper……. Someone in your comments said it was a legless lizard. I hope so! The cabin is coming along great…. So much work…. I am looking forward to seeing the concrete floor going down & finished. I’ll bet you are too….. you do a great job in whatever you touch. Bravo. Stay well & happy. Till next week…..Cheers Noeline….🇦🇺 thanks for posting every week. It’s fabulous to see.

28:30 I did all my plumbings for a recent project of mine exactly with these connectors (OBI Italy) and they're tight as hell, absolutely no leakage in 20+ connections. Super! Anyway, that idea with the accessible box 30:29 is very good. And I share the same "anxiety" about concrete: once it's poured it's done, good or bad you can't change it. Therefore I don't understand (but it's a personal choice) why you didn't go for a wooden flooring. You did a very good insulation and preparation, so...why not? That would be accessible, changeable and transpirating.

Hi Martjin, the views in this video are different from others you've done and I appreciate seeing the property from different angles...very refreshing. Also, maybe it was your colors, sun, etc, but there were certain angles that captured you in print-worthy and frame-worthy shots (e.g., near the new chimey). Anyway, I've been following you since Kirsten Dirksen's segment first aired and it's been such a great journey watching you meticulously work and developing a beautiful property. You are a true artist with incredible patience. I look forward to your videos every Sunday. Sending best wishes from New Jersey.

At the end you stopped the car,you walked into a village street, then a carriage road, then a pathway, lastly a nature path.. that's where we all end up,and start our lives too!! Who knows?Maybe in the next episodes, after you build a solid farm and complete the houses,a little Doollaard comes in your life and later takes over the path, the carriage road, and the village road!!

When you stuck your hand in the wall in my mind I was saying, “oh Martyn, I don’t think I would…YIKES! A snake!” Lol These last several weeks of digging these ditches have plumb wore me out. I am glad we are on the down hill of that project. I hope your back is holding up. The girls look fat and sassy. Love seeing them. May the snail enjoy a long life and what did the birds have in their mouth flying out from the stone wall? Your drive down the mountain, thru the village was just lovely but your hike! Mercy, that was just awe inspiring!!! Have a productive week dear Martyn.

It's nice to see the girls patrolling the excavations for worms. Just got a glimpse of how the silence of the mountains would work for Father Johannes and the Waldensians. It's one of those places where the God in the silence, becomes a real vibe. Also flashed back, when you were wheelbarrowing sand down the hill, to your first day there. How quiet and strange it seemed. Now it looks like a little city.

Pace a tutti🌈
