It's all about experimentation. One of my favorite circuit routines is like a 5X5: 5 exercises, 5 reps each (both sides). Sometimes I'll work with heavy loads and work to reps of 100 (like the around the world series). You can come up with all sorts of stuff.

thats the whole point mate, its integrated functional exercises over isolation, the beauty of kettlebells is it promotes these types of movement patterns helping people to reconnect with their bodies, with the swing for example, its a great exercise for strengthening the extensor chain as a whole rather than doing separate ham, glute, lower back exercises, which, if overused will create the body to wrongly fire certain muscles.

Great vid, thanks for putting it together. this is probably the most comprehensive KB exercise list I have seen. I have two observations; I worry about the position of your spine when you are upright with the KBs in a rack position. You lean back a bit and your hip and L spine are aligned, but it seems like there's a lot of curvature in the T spine. Second; your lunges look a little too narrow and forward-weighted, you might want to have a look at that.
@bloomtofit9 жыл бұрын
GeordiTV Thanks for your feedback, I appreciate it. I'm definitely working on improving in both areas.
@Bbnbboy119 жыл бұрын
Bloom to Fit I've tried it both more vertical or as you did in your video. the only advantage to more vertical is a little more stress to the abs, but the slight "lean back" allows for using higher weights. I teach KBs to elite athletes and I like your slight lean back and "cushioning" in the set. It allows for less stress on knees and hips and allows higher weights and more stress on the posterior chain, which is my aim. My classes love this workout. I usually break it into 3 workouts and multiple sets. My students are total freaks. Most of the females are screaming for heavier KBs, The heaviest I have right now are 35KBs!!
@GeordiTV9 жыл бұрын
James Walker Hey James, you did not address this in your comment so I'm not sure if you understood what I meant; My issue isn't that he leans back - I think it's fine to lean back to better distribute weight over the base - my issue is curling the upper back (T Spine). This is a result of insufficient T spine extensor strength, and will encourage kyphosis, especially with larger weights. The spine should remain in a neutral position and any shock absorption or compensation for the position of the weight should take place in the hip.
@Bbnbboy119 жыл бұрын
GeordiTV I see what you mean and agree.
@carolschwenzer565211 жыл бұрын
Love the workouts. Those burpees are hard alone without kettlebells..lol You rocked it! Just a word of advice if you don't mind. When you are doing your swing please bend the knees that's what is really protecting your back. And also don't swing pass your shoulders you are more liable to hurt your rotator cuffs. I hope you don't mind me saying that. Love your videos all around.

Thank you for a very complete and well cathegorized video. You sure gave me a lot of ideeas from where to start. I combine some of the exercises with some short aerobic and exercises with my own weight. I started with 20 min workout and i hope i will progress (heavier weights and smaller resting periods). Keep your selves fit...
Some great exercises, there are so many out there that many are forgotten. my fave at the mo when aiming more cardio is 2kb alternating clean on a 1 count, the constant dip/drive with sharp breaths really takes it out of you, my muay thai coach said its the hardest kettlebell exercises he done so far, next step for him...alternating snatch :)

That's how I've been taught to rack the kettlebell. There isn't as much 'lateral spinal curvature' as you may think. The idea is to dig the inside of your elbow on your pelvis for support.

well i'm using it as part of fight to loose some weight. As you might know, building muscles will help to burn fat, so i use kettle-bell anytime i can (once a day at least) for a 10/15 minutes circuit. I can see my body getting shaped everyday. Hearts on fire on my playlist as motivation song... I suggest to don't use big kettle-bell otherwise u will become huge in blink of eye.... Good Luck to to too Mishaal Al-Kuwari

Want some variety? Using both hands on 1 KB.. While standing, move the kettle in figure 8's while staying at shoulder height. form the figure 8's side to side extending out from your shoulders left and right in the horizontal plane. The "Center crossing" of the figure 8 will be right front of your chest, just below your chin.... and then change to vertical, so that the KB is going up while fully extended out from each shoulder. The downward motion for each part of the figure 8 starts above your shoulder and goes down as it crosses in front of your chest to about even with your belt line.
